Phumfeinz Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Yeah! I figured this forum could do with more Beatle related threads, seeing as we're all such massive fans and there's a Beatle revival going on lately. Stuart Sutcliffe, Pete Best, George Martin, Brian Epstein etc etc don't count.
tonyh29 Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 John all the way Ringo stole the show though when the went to the US , you could see how shy Lennon was in public never warmed to McCartney and he'd have been nothing without Lennon ....
Jondaken Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Before someone makes a comment along the lines of "the dead ones"... I will.
wiganvillain Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Doesn't appear at the top but gets my vote
Jondaken Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 You know, I was going to post about not being allowed to vote for beetles either, but then I thought, nahh, noone would be that obvious. :bonk:
mjmooney Posted September 15, 2009 VT Supporter Posted September 15, 2009 George. Made by far the best post-breakup album in "All Things Must Pass".
Phumfeinz Posted September 15, 2009 Author Posted September 15, 2009 Band on the Run is superb I think.
mjmooney Posted September 15, 2009 VT Supporter Posted September 15, 2009 Band on the Run is superb I think.I have a love/hate thing about "BOTR". Some of it is great ("Let Me Roll It"), some good ("Jet", "Band on the Run") and some VERY irritating ("1985"). Same goes for "Imagine", really. Whereas I like pretty much all of "All Things Must Pass". Also, I like the fact that Harrison, beneath the Hare Krishna shell, was at heart a scouse hardcase (unlike Lennon, who pretended to be one).
Phumfeinz Posted September 15, 2009 Author Posted September 15, 2009 Crikey, 1985 is the 2nd best song on that album IMO. I love it.
tonyh29 Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 but George has to lose mega points for "Got my mind set on you "
fastzombies Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 has to go to ringo for thomas the tank engine.
fastzombies Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 never warmed to McCartney and he'd have been nothing without Lennon .... that's a bit harsh is'nt it.
mjmooney Posted September 15, 2009 VT Supporter Posted September 15, 2009 but George has to lose mega points for "Got my mind set on you "Don't mind that particularly, but yeah, he only did one really good album, followed by loads of mediocre ones. I did like the Travelling Wilburies though.
RunRickyRun Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Paul purely because of Wings. They're only the band the Beatles could've been
maqroll Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 but George has to lose mega points for "Got my mind set on you " In his defense, that was post-Beatles. But he still loses mega points for all that sitar crap
heystally! Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Damn you Rob, that was my exact thought when I first saw this thread.
