Wow what a performance! 2-0 and we hit the woodwork twice! A well deserved double over Arsenal and a fine all round team performance. Three unexpected points to compensate for points unexpectedly dropped recently. Champions League? They're not laughing any more! ;)

Carlos titanic, Watkins class as always, Zaniolo took a dump on all the naysayers today.

Morgan Rogers looks like the best £15m mid season signing since time began.

but he didn't.....if he played like that in most games, there wouldn't be the naysayers.

Commenting on what you see in a game, is not the same as how you value a player overall...so that's wide of the mark.

He had a great game, we all agree.

Thanks mate, had an awful time with my mental health recently, won't get into it too much here, but I ended up in hospital last week. To be honest I was close to tears after the game, the bond a man can have with his football team is unexplainable sometimes. I am proud to be a Villa supporter and it is a genuine honour that I get to support this club for the rest of my life.

The love that keeps on loving.

Like a lot of players from overseas, it looks like he is now finding his feet. Bailey, Diaby, even, Luiz, it takes time.

I spent the morning rationalising to a friend how we should rotate the squad again as today was a free hit due to Spurs loss.

I know absolutely nothing about football. It's taken 40 years, but I'm now clear on that. I will never provide an opinion again. Its pointless, this team forever confounds me.

No....You do know about football......but performances vary, and they are human and individuals in a team of 11 have good days and bads days....and that also varies in numbers.....11 were at it yesterday, all on the same page.

This is a good day......Consistency, is what separates the chaff from the wheat...Unai emphasised that, that's what he is working on.

We was all at it.....ALL of us.

some say fans are fickle, they are not necessarily, the football performances are.....but hey ho......great day for us.

Pricks on Sky desperately trying to get a headline quote out of Ollie about him being " An Arsenal Fan ".

He handled that well 😂

Pricks

..

Emi said he loves Arsenal, he has friends there.....But Emi loves everybody and everything....that's Emi.

No doubt that will be a headline somewhere.

Two of the most (unfairly) criticised players in our squad put in MONSTER performances today… when will we learn?

when they play like that in most games....I get the narrative of supporting players, when they are struggling......and on those displays, they deserve to be, supported, but a great game, does not negate a bad one....they are separate performances.

but folk can only, comment on what they see during a game......good or bad.

because a player, has a great game....it doesn't mean the last bad one, is/ has to be negated.....Unai talks constantly about consistency, and that is his main pursuit.

We can only say what we see.

Media say that Arsenal played badly (they did not) rather than Villa played well (they did).

100%

They can **** right off...trying to discredit us.

The Media...................................................next.

I wouldn't believe them if they said it was daytime, in on a sunny afternoon.

Sky can get **** - we were a complete afterthought from the moment they'd booked those studio guests. Spoke about us in the build-up like Arsenal were at home to a lower-mid table team who needed one more win to be certain of not being dragged in to a relegation scrap. If only they'd just seen a match like that an hour before... We were (and are) 4th - no mention of the season we're having, just "Villa are 4th, they're actually not bad you know".

100 minutes later we're still an afterthought. It's a shame no other broadcaster can compete with them and attempt to get a better product than the shite they serve up, it's embarrassing.

They get paid a lot of money, for that biased Crap....then you get Merson, who you would think never played for Villa, where he possibly played his best football and revered by the fans of the day.

They are obviously told by the producers what line to pursue.....its just typical of the organisation/ Media, as a whole....they are like the "thought police" controlling the narrative.

We pay for all that.

I had no faith in us getting a result. Just too many silly goals going in lately and they are on a great run of form and it's at their place. Would have been delighted to come away with a point. I love being wrong like this.

Amazing performance.  And to think we were without Dougie-I feel he would have stifled Youri today who was excellent. Rogers had a whiff of Buendia about him-very forward thinking from midfield and we've been lacking that I think. Great performances across the board. No smash and grab-it was a well deserved win. Let's hope this has unlocked something in us and we can show some consistent quality for the rest of the season. It should give us confidence in beating a team that doesn't conceded many and scores a lot.

To the fans who traveled - hats off - congrats on being there for such great day!

I saw things in that game, I didn't think we had in us, with that line -up, especially.

I love being in that club....when Villa show me, they do have it in them.....I now know what Unai was saying about consistency, He mentioned it several times after the match.

I don't think Dougie being missing, was an issue.....I think all players being at it, on the same day, was a huge reason, and that was on the back of Unai's gameplan and demands to be brave, and not worry about errors.

I accept that sheepy.....but it's all about consistency.

consistency in individual players and also collectively.

Unai has been quick to remind us of that....and what his work in progress entails.

When we produce a display like that, and in contrast the one against Spurs.....it shows what the manager has as a task in front of him...He knows what he has to do, to improve us.
