LancsVillan Posted July 29, 2005 Moderator Share Posted July 29, 2005 due to the omission from the list of Sid, this could be close. Sid is left out as he's from a different era.
TOTTI-THE-GOD
Are Daley and Frogget also out of it too ???
theboyangel
hmmm, not much of a list there tbf. I've gone for GB, his overall ability is awesome. Thompson never lived up to his potential until he went north of the border (which sums up the standards there!) Andy Townsend I thought was more central as we played a 5-3-2 when he was around so would count him as a LM Lee Hendrie has never impressed me at LM nor had Hitz who I both count as CM... What about Daley - didn't he play either flank??

Trinity-Tom
What about Ginola? In all seriousness, it has to be Bazza, Daley was quality but I think the fact that Bazza is still so young he just pips it
Morley_crosses_to_Withe
Daley by a long shot! One of the only true wingers weve had in years. Who remembers his flying volley - sensational!

ChrisVillan
The guy was a football genius. Bryan Small and Dave Farrell down the left side, class. Did they ever play together? Must have done at least once, surely.
LancsVillan Posted July 29, 2005 Author Moderator Share Posted July 29, 2005 in Farrell's four games he never once got onto the pitch with Bryan Small in his first game he got subbed off for a young prospect called Yorke!

Denis_B
Townsend for me..... a proper Captain!... and by the way I picked Sean Teale as Centre Back. That probably gives away the sort of player I like
LancsVillan Posted July 29, 2005 Author Moderator Share Posted July 29, 2005 Townsend for me too - maybe he'll get a central spot ;-)
NurembergVillan Posted July 29, 2005 Moderator Share Posted July 29, 2005 Wasnt Daley a right winger? Hence the number 7 shirt? And Townsend was a central player, although left footed. For me Froggatt should be in there. The amount of goals he set up for Deano and Dalian was incredible, and we've never had anyone like him since. If Gareth Barry had more pace he'd be an astounding prospect, though.
1977
Tony Daley was one of the most exciting players I ever saw at Villa. Okay I was a bit younger but nostalgia is good for the heart.
