Big_John_10
So I can connect my phone with the car to make and receive calls and instructions from Google maps will also play through the car audio system. Does anyone know if there is an app that will allow me to play my music through the car audio system using blue tooth?
The_Rev
Probably. Maybe somebody will be able to help with a more specific answer if you actually say what kind of phone you are using.
Tegis Posted December 13, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted December 13, 2013 Depends totally on what phone you use and what the bluetooth setup in your car allows.
Keyblade
Download the song Roygbiv by Boards of Canada and play it in your car with your Bluetooth on. Your car stereo should automatically connect as it trips over itself to amplify the awesomeness.
darrenm
It just works. I'm assuming you haven't done car Bluetooth before. It's great. Get a Bluetooth car stereo and just connect your phone to it and enjoy the experience. A car holder is recommended.
Big_John_10
Sorry. Using a nexus 5. I downloaded an app that said it would just work but it doesn't. I'll keep investigating.
Mart-L7
Should be able to play it direct from phones music player? What car and stereo is it?
PieFacE Posted December 21, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted December 21, 2013 (edited) Some bluetooth devices allow music pass through, some don't. Depends if they're an A2DP standard I do believe. You shouldn't need an app to do it. When your phone is connected to the car via bluetooth, you should just be able to hit play on any music player (ie Google Music) and the audio should be passed through to the car stereo. If you try playing music and it doesn't come through your car stereo, but phone calls still do, then your bluetooth device in your car isn't capable of music pass-through. What bluetooth device are you using? Edited December 21, 2013 by PieFacE
Big_John_10
Yeah after a bit more playing I think the issue is my stereo is just not able to play music through blue tooth. I downloaded an app which tricked the stereo into thinking the phone was making a call but the sound quality was awful
darrenm
Good Bluetooth stereos are £100 and work perfectly. I've got a pioneer fx7000bt in both of my cars.
dubbs
I use a Parrot system in my car. Allows music through blue tooth, voice control, and you connect usb devices to it too.
