I used to be the same mate. Still am to a certain extent. I had a gf throughout 6th form, where the "pulling skills" are honed, so missed out on that. WHen I got to uni I couldn't really do the pulling thing. But someone told me that if you aren't getting girls doing what you're doing now (which at that point was standing in a bar/club waiting for girls to come to me, which wasn't that often), it's not going to change. To get girls you have to change. So I did. I sucked it up and just started talking to girls about nothing. Just make something up. "Oh hi, do you think this drink smells funny?" All you need is an ice breaker. Keep some random stories in your back pocket to fill any gaps. "Did you see those 2 girls fighting outside earlier?" and you're golden! I do ok these days I haven't gone to 6th form though, so again I've missed out on that! I suppose it'll come with time.

Probably the latter! As I said, I have minimal confidence in social situations - as anyone who's met me in real life on here can testify.... And I can write for England Scotland Ireland and the Outer Hebrides! I can't talk in front of loads of people.

I'm shit at talking to people face to face, unless I've known them a while. Confidence is a big big problem of mine. It holds me back a lot. Everyone gets it on here because I deliver it flawlessly in print, and most people have the same sense of HUMOUR () as me!

I heard a snippet on the news in my car earlier that apprenticeship numbers had doubled over the past 5 years... excellent news. Still needs to be higher IMO.

what are you basing this on? a large number of my friends are from a local rugby club, i would say they suffer as many injuries as those that play football. They certainly suffer more serious injuries. I would also say the long term affects of playing rugby seem worse. Ask anyone that has played for 20 years or so (you'll be able to tell who they are by the disfigured nose and ears), most of them can barely walk and suffer long term knee and ankle injuries. Certainly the theme amongst most i know. Rugby I played for a fair few years and the worst I picked up were a handful of scars and the odd shoeing in a ruck. In football, I have had my knee ligaments ripped, my ankle almost broken, cracked my head open three times and almost snapped my wrist. Add to that I've broken two people's ankles in a tackle/collision and someone's arm. (Bizarrely) As well as that, most of my friends have suffered similar things, the odd injury in rugby but far more in football.
