  1. What a load of horse shit! Who put us in this mess in the first place? At the end of the day, our economic position is like one big shit sandwich and everyone is going to have to take a bite. IMO. the Harrier is a 50 year old plane and although it does a fantastic job, it is near to being replaced anyway because of certain restrictions i.e. not being capable of supersonic speed. If these are scrapped, then why do we need the Ark Royal (originally designed as a through deck cruiser not an aircraft carrier)? OK, it takes away our ability to apply fast jets from the sea but if my knowledge is correct, in every conflict since the Falklands, we have been able to apply ground attack aircraft from land bases. I agree that is sad that the navy are no where near as strong as they were in the past but in a few years, they will be getting their pride back in the form of having 2 of the largest carriers in europe. It also makes sense to have one of these changed to carry other fixed wing attack aircraft other than VTOL.
  2. We stopped the team who has scored the most goals in the league from scoringn and had our chances. If we can remian consistent, I see no reason whatsoever that we can't win plenty of more games this season.
  3. We are playing this game just right IMO. We are closing down the spaces and making it difficult for them yet are passing the ball quite well in the attacking third with the forward 4 of Ireland, Carew, Young and Downing linking well. We need to take our chances though.
  4. We did it with Courtney Cameron. It makes sense that if they have a gem and know he will develop more than they can offer, then cash in on him. It's a big risk for Chelsea because of his age (Cameron was a lot older when we got him) but he could turn out ot be the english Messi.
  5. Fokker also invented the machine gun firing mechanism that allowed 2 machine guns to fire through the propeller withou thitting it, hence making his planes much more accurate and harder hitting than British. Oh! SHA
  6. More likely put Ash on the wing and have Ireland in the hole.
  7. General, Sir! In the Off Topic section, there is a thread entitled 'Famous Quotes from History'. I would love to hear some of the quotes that have inspired you in the past whether military or otherwise. Cheers for your time.
  8. His best chance will probably be to have an absolute blinder against Burnley to force GH's hand. He will be played eventually but like others have said, the midfield needs to add some steel to help him roam freely.
  9. Allah AKBAR! http://tinyurl.com/2vseexo Or this one http://tinyurl.com/cn5dzu
  10. The key to Bannan and Ireland being able to show us what they really are capable of is having a very strong DM who will allow them to roam and pop up all over the place.
  11. I really want to see us take the game to Spurs and go for the win. With that midfield, it would wet us up nicely to play keep ball and create chances.
  12. I can remember people using Beckford and Boyd as a yardstick to how unambitious we were in the transfer market. Yep, they were right!
  13. All parties change their policies upon becoming government. Didn't labour say they were banning fox hunting in their first term, it didn't get through until the second. Tory tax cheats as opposed to all the stuff that high profile Labour MP's have done i.e. Mandelson's funding, Blunkett's au pair, Vaz'z dodgy dealings. Oh what a short memory you have. They are all as bad as each other.
  14. Or killing it. It looks something out of the sea.
  15. The economy was on the rise before Labour got in in 1997. It was down to Tory sleaze that they were voted out, 'Time for a change' and all that. Milliband will not put fear into the government but then again I don't see why Labour should anyway.
  16. He doesn't. He said it in the summer, soon after he left. He said MON liked big strong players (surprise, surprise) and that he felt he had a better chance with a new manager.
  17. The Tiger tanks used in 'Saving Private Ryan' were actually modified T34's. There is only one drivable Tiger tank in the World and that is at Bovington Tank Museum in Dorset! And I'd recommend it to anyone.
  18. Got it now. He didn't pick up a broken toe tonight though did he?
  19. Oh I don’t know. A quick trip to a club might be in order... Although I agree that a good stint at a top Championship club will do him good, we are lacking in the CM department and he will get games here if he can play like he did in the second half of tonight.
  20. He'll be going nowhere after tonight.
  21. Bannan = the new Xavi or am I getting a little ahead of myself?
  22. There's your continental style right there!
  23. Hold to your hats, we know what's coming. BOOM, BOOm, BOOOOOOOOOOOOM
