  1. Me too. It might be the one saving grace of this catastrophic affair. Thats a bit OTT Yes it is. You don't get enough hyperbole on the internet these days .
  2. Me too. It might be the one saving grace of this catastrophic affair.
  3. Point of order: Wasn't Davies a £2m loan for his first season and then signed for £8m the following summer. £2m + £8m = £10m.
  4. I would actually be delighted now if KMac was given the job full time. Hopefully Houllier will decline the offer.
  5. if we get him, we would not have hired above ourselves IMO. Given his C.V. I can't imagine him being a contender for any club above our level. We're about as good as he could do. I have been talking to the French guy in work who follows french football and he's been saying Houillier is rubbish.
  6. Harewood, Shorey, Beye, Downing, Sidwell, Davies,NRC have all been worse signings (so far) given their relative performances/transfer fees/wages/re-sale value.
  7. I lay'ed bradley as well a while ago. Seemed like a no brainer TBH, he was just whoring himself out for the job. There was never any justification for his short price.
  8. I dunno, I look at the list of candidates and I feel like Rambo with a Minigun. Anyone decent is probably unattainable at the moment, mainly due to the exceptionally bad timing of MON's walkout
  9. Are people not always saying that the director of football approach doesn't work? Can anyone name a club in england where it has worked successfully? If we go down the DOF route we are headed down a bad road IMO.
  10. Warning Pedant alert Point of order: In the 2002-2003 Liverpool finished in the fifth place in the Premiership, failing to qualify for the Champions League next season. LINK
  11. Where did I say that? Yes he won a cup treble but given the money he spent/wasted he under achieved at liverpool IMO. Plus the style of football liverpool played was an assault on the eyes. After MON it would be nice to have a manager that actually played some football that was reasonably decent to watch. From Wiki - Liverpool under houiller LINK First season OUT's Paul Ince, David James, Jason McAteer, Rob Jones, Tony Warner , Steve Harkness and Steve McManaman IN's: Sami Hyypiä, Dietmar Hamann, Stéphane Henchoz, Vladimír Šmicer, Sander Westerveld, Titi Camara, Eric Meijer and Djimi Traoré Second season. OUTS:David Thompson, Phil Babb, Dominic Matteo, Steve Staunton, Brad Friedel and Stig Inge Bjørnebye IN's: Markus Babbel, Nicky Barmby, Pegguy Arphexad, Grégory Vignal, Emile Heskey, Gary McAllister, Igor Bišćan and Christian Ziege. A lack of success in the following seasons when Liverpool struggled to qualify for the Champions League despite substantial investment in players, with what was perceived as negative one-dimensional tactics and unattractive football, a poor youth policy, his constant mention of "turning corners" and a lack of support from fans led to Houllier's departure from Liverpool on 24 May 2004.
  12. Would be a shockingly poor appointment IMO. Played god awful football at Liverpool and spent a fortune on puke players like Diouf,Bruno Cheyrou, Djibril Cissé, and Salif Diao. Did little with the Lyon side that Le Guen built (Yes I know he won the league twice but Lyon were getting worse not better under him). Awful. Awful. Awful. Awful.
  13. I think its fairly obvious that we won't be bringing in any players, you would hardly expect the club to come out and confirm that. Plus they have already said in not so many words that we won't be buying anyone.
  14. Post of the Year. Easy to see you know your football Chindie and don't wear the claret and blue specs (that so many on here wear) when judging one of our players. As for him being O'Neills worst signing Sidwell and Davies give him some competition...
  15. That's a hell of a leap.. I can guarantee Everton wouldn't have had such a huge amount of posession if Ireland had played. This. We might have actually been able to keep the ball if Ireland was playing.
  16. Anyone else think KMac doesn't rate Fonzie? Hasn't really featured at all under Kmac so far and wasn't supposed to be on the bench yesterday.
  17. Friedel 8- Played well L.Young 8 (MOTM)- took a great goal and put his body on the line. Collins 8 - Had a great game Dunne 7- Carrying an injury. Warnock 7- did well but lunged in a few times. Petrov 6- worked hard but we couldn't keep posession Reo Coker 6 - Did alot of running but his skill level is shockingly poor. has the touch of a rapist. A.Young 6 - Great pass for the goal but too many over hit set pieces and too much whinging. Downing 4 - Terrible. Offered nest ot nothing. Albrighton 4 - Defensively terrible but he's only learning his trade. Carew 5- Did a bit better at the start of the second half. A 1-0 win to paper over the cracks. If we give sides that much possession we'll lose alot more than we'll win. If Everton had a striker on the pitch then it would have been 3-1 to them. Macdonald's failure to adjust in the first half was worrying but at least in the second half we were a bit better.
  18. I think it was made clear that Randy didn't mind waiting as long as it took to get the right man in. I don't recall any reliable source saying their would be a new manager in place by the newcastle game.
  19. He'd leave in a heartbeat if he was offered the Villa job. Its such a massive step up from Leeds that he'd be insane to turn it down. Although he's not the right man for the job IMO.
  20. Can't understand the general Jol love in, although it may be down to the shocking quality of the candidates available for the job. We really need to find a manager who can get the best out of our players and who can make the best use of our limited transfer budget. I jsut hope Randy can find the right man.
