  1. Fair play Warrington, 3 rounds ago he looked like he was folding slowly. Rallied well.
  2. Lopez to stop Warrington with a left to the body late.
  3. Which is why England are happy losers. Until it becomes unacceptable to lose you can never have a winning mentality.
  4. If he's currently regarded as the best player in world football standards are slipping. Great player but not for me. I think Haaland is a better forward although very different and far more dangerous. Shame he'll never get to really test himself on a regular basis at International level.
  5. The only reason people trot out the bollox about Southgate bringing some form of team unity is because of the amount of apologists in the media licking his rear end. In reality he's failed at his job, miserably after several attempts.
  6. He's done nothing more than countless other losers have done. He's bonded a team of losers, nothing to be proud of.
  7. Deserved. Far more intent with the ball and in attack. Cry about the foul but it's at the other end of the pitch.
  8. Sloppy England. Need to wake up and stop pissing about with the ball.
  9. France are far more composed in possession at the moment.
  10. I know he's now gone off but Ziyech has been one of the players of the tournament for me. Really hope Morocco hold on.
  11. That 82 Brazil team is arguably the greatest team never to win a World Cup, probably their best team since 1970. Such a beautiful team to watch play football. Here's the 82 Brazil story football art.
  12. 82 was mine. Zico along with Tony Morley were my hero's. That 82 WC was still to this day my most loved. From the moment Robbo netted against France it was just brilliant game after brilliant game. Some of the match ups were amazing. The most disgusting thing about it was Peter Withe being the only Villa player in the England squad considering we just won the European Cup. Absolute travesty imo that several of our players weren't in that squad. Instead waiting for Brooking and Keegan to be fit. Then they came on in the draw v Spain when we needed a win and delivered zilch. Total bollox. As a tournament though I still find it hard to find to pick anything that rivals it. It probably had more football legends participating than any other WC in history. It was just mental and the football legendary. Here are the goals. I would say if anyone can find the official video narrated by Sean Connery its a serious good watch.
  13. Something tells me the Spanish refereeing version of Mussolini won't get many more WC games. Absolutely horrendous ref.
  14. Spain 82, Mexico 86, Italia 90. All these were better WC's for me personally. 82 and 86 because I was an footy mad kid. 90, because I could enjoy it in the pub with mates, and obviously England had a great tournament with our own David Platt lighting the Country up against Belgium and then the Cameroon and Germany games were amazing. 98 I got to go England v Tunisia, my only WC game which was mental. I also loved Brazil in 2014 which was visually amazing even if England were disappointing, it was also a fantastic summer in the UK. It's all about the individual memories, but I would guess that most peoples favourite tournaments will have been as youngsters or based on personal memories during the tournaments.
  15. It really isn't. You hear this banded about everywhere. The one thing that denies this actually being factually correct is the individual memory. Everybody will have different a perspective on their personal favourite based on memories. I'm sure if England win it then all us English will put it up there in the memory bank as a positive but nobody outside the Country will care. Same with any Country tbh.
  16. Argentina deserved it. Holland although rallying late did f*** all for the most part. The right team won. It's not hard to understand the love for Emi. He's a remarkable human being, an emotional beast that could hand Messi and Argentina the WC. What an immense presence he is.
  17. TBF Emi's done his job. 2 saves is big
  18. Through ball of the tournament. Phenomenal vision
  19. Commentators talking about Brasil like they're lightyears better than Croatia. Brasil have been toothless in attack so far. Having more of the ball but Croatia are far tidier in possession. Shame they have very little in attack. Can see this going to pens at this rate.
  20. I agree, we'll never be able to compete with Madrid, however, we've also been pretty busy when it comes to bringing in the best youth domestically, snapping up some of the best prospects in the Country, admittedly not to the tune of 70m, 2 years in advance though. I'm sure if you asked most of the clubs we'd been poaching off the last few years their argument would be similar in pointing the finger at us. We are just further up the food chain but not far enough to cast our net as wide because we don't have the same prestige or even swim in the same ocean as Madrid. I'm sure though most owners in the PL could afford the 70m over a couple of years, but it's the club prestige, European football and the promise of ridiculous shady wages that kills it. God I'm depressed now. I want a 70m wonderkid in 2 years.
  21. Posted this the other day about him.... The kid will be worth double in 2 years. Phenomenal talent and expected to surpass Neymar. But yeah, the game has gone. .
  22. Everyone talking about Mbappe, Messi, Brasil... Spotlight on Ronaldo while his team are going about business. I don't want Portugal to win it but looking at their options in attack, any team they come up against are in trouble. They'll beat Morocco imo.
  23. I'm going to be bold. Both teams entering the final will be unbeaten on route.
  24. I would.. I'd be making down payments as we speak. He's going to be a full on superstar.
  25. I'll take this 16 yr old kid please. Endrick Felipe Moreira de Sousa IMPRESSIVE Skills & Goals in 2022/2023 Season playing for SE Palmeiras and Brazil U20 National Team.
