  1. We've all watched a fair amount of shit over the years obviously and it's difficult to pinpoint exactly which is the worst ever but I don't remember a time I watched a game at villa park where I was as bored and as disappointed with the performan as I was on Saturday. Similarly last night with regards watching on TV. I've said tongue in cheek many a time that we can't string 3 passes together. We genuinely couldn't last night. When you consider everything. The league we are in. The current form of the opposition. The supposed best manager at this level we have. The money we've spent etc, I would say last night is the worst I've ever seen. I was simply stunned at the lack of quality and the sheer hope in which we seemed to think kodjia or ayew would do something last night. What exactly was the plan last night? We say we don't have the players and certainly with some I definitely agree but we had 5 full internationals on the pitch last night.... not including gabby, and 3 u21's.
  2. I haven't got a problem with losing. I really haven't. Could lose every game.... and I'd cope. It's the painfully turgid football that we play that I am sick to the back teeth of. And it's not going away.
  3. Il have a go. I promise, I'd get stuck in more.
  4. We will have to disagree. For me Chester, despite being poor recently.... has a touch of class that none of our defenders have. Amavi is just naive if you ask me.
  5. Please **** off And take with you, the pathetic commentators demanding that you warrant immense praise for your recent efforts.
  6. I never said he was the worst. And no I'm not talking about the hacked clearances. He gave it away in silly positions too on Saturday. The first half wasn't as bad but it was still full of mistakes. He did well to save his own skin with a tackle when ball watching and out of position. His ridiculous decision making to try and dribble past 3 players on the half way led to the Howson shot I believe. He really isn't very good.
  7. I think we perhaps underestimate what a detriment this could be. Not just in this forum but an example.... people often say they hope players don't read the criticism they get on here. I hope they don't read some of the praise they receive either. Another example would be the way we act at games. A lot of its tongue in cheek and pinch of salt and part of the game... but.... I can safely say that jack grealish' career so far has been far from super! Nothing wrong with showing appreciation but do we help with keeping his feet on the ground and do we expect and demand enough from them?
  8. Baring in mind we spent 60m and we're in this shower of shit league, that whilst true, is frightening. Said a few weeks back that it was likely that we were just not going to put the run of form together to get us in to a position where we can afford inevitable losses. Too many teams in between us.. All of which aren't going to **** up every week. And we certainly aren't going to win every week.
  9. New manager bounce over and his limitations are very very evident. I've watched the last 4 games and bar a brilliant goal by grealish and a win against an awful Cardiff, it's been as bad as I've seen. Saturday and tonight were as bad as I've seen tbh. Fair play for the decent start that's got us out the shit relegation wise but once again we look like 11 players who haven't got a clue what the plan is. We constantly look rushed and panicked. I've never seen so many passes (easy passes) go straight to the other team. No creativity, no drive. Just a sheer hope that ayew or kodjia are going to dribble through a whole defence and score, or Alan Hutton will finally put a decent cross in. Sadly, the chances are, they won't. He's certainly under no pressure but the signs are there that the coming games are going to be a truly dire watch.
  10. Awful. Not for the first time. Must have given it away 20 times. Needless as well. This belief that he's a decent player and has ever shown it, is one of the biggest villa myths I've ever known.
  11. Took a bit if stick for jumping on apparently slightly ott praise when people were calling him an 'unbelievable talent'. Like his manager, his bounce has gone and his limits are becoming very clear. Awful. Flash in the pan, head down, rubbish.
  12. Thought it was pretty even attempt wise tbh. kodjia had the best couple of chances but they hit a volley that just missed like amavi and another shot that just went wide and another over. We controlled the ball no doubt but we struggled to break them down mainly because we very quickly run out of ideas imo and have done for years. There was a moment when kodjia had the ball at the left side of the box. He beat a man, then went back so that he had to beat him again. If we passed the ball as a team instead of dribbling down blind alleys we would have broken them down quite comfortably.
  13. I remember thinking we were absolutely mad to not accept the ridiculous fees being talked about. Wasn't even good last year. Just the best of a truly dismal bunch.
  14. The problem on Saturday was that our play was ridiculously predictable. slow passing and too many players running head down trying to take on the whole team. kodjia was one of them. Him and ayew... I've no idea what they were trying to do at times but we have far too many players who think they are Lionel Messi. Keep it simple and we will walk this abysmal league.
  15. We must have been watching a completely different game. I thought it was an incredibly poor game with zero quality bar the grealish goal. I can't think of any villa player who throughout the 90 played 'well', though jack was comfortably the best
  16. Thought he was poor again. needs telling that he doesn't need to take on the whole team every time he gets the ball.
  17. Surplus to requirements. does nothing but unbalance the team and take on the opposition sideways across the pitch.
  18. Not sure what your point is? you're highlighting the failing of other clubs in a defence of ours. With the greatest respect, I couldn't give a monkey's toss who those teams have produced. What matters is that we have a fantastic infrastructure, top quality facilities, one of the most respected academies in the country and yet the transition to the first team is appalling.
  19. I for one would be hugely disappointed if he became only a 'decent' player. Given the hype, the tug of war between england/Ireland and the billy big bollocks swagger he displays, I've always expected big things from jack. He's delivered in the smallest of moments. About time we produced some quality players who delivered. No, not everyone can turn put to be top players but if we're as big as a club as we make out to be then we must deliver more. At 21/22, there's no longer any more time to be sat on the fence balancing the chances of him maybe turning into a decent player. Start delivering. Simple as. Especially in thus utter shower of shit league.
  20. We genuinely wouldn't do much worse than RDM etc
  21. Awful. Too much pissing about with it again for my liking. All a bit predictable. Looked slow. A long way off being a premier league player based on that
