  1. A hell of a lot more wrong? I don't think so. Off the top of my head Westwood was responsible for goals at Preston and at home to Cardiff. Both are poor but to make out Westwood has been better than Gardner is just clutching at straws imo.
  2. Our record without Westwood proves that he should be nowhere near the team regardless of the other useless midfielders at our disposal.
  3. I could but I wanted to post my opinion on Jordan amavi. Sorry, only I thought this was the Jordan amavi thread. The bit you've quoted I put just to highlight that my opinion won't have been swayed either way by today's game.
  4. Again, I only listened on the radio but the commentary certainly supported your opinion here dem. Much improved 2nd half and got his goal. Kinda what he needs to be doing though.
  5. Didn't see today's game. The radio commentary had him down for doing some good things but also some bad things. He's certainly more of a positive than a negative this season (bar a couple of times when he's been awful imo) but the opinions in here are way way OTT for me. Reminds me of the Westwood thread. Solid: no doubt. He's certainly not playing to the levels that people are suggesting.
  6. I was in the holte end. It was dreadful you're right. But we did at times look like scoring. In fact we did. The result was more devestating given the event but the performance was not as bad.
  7. Bad bad times. As bad as strangeways potentially.
  8. Saw the Bradford game. That wasn't as bad. We at least had a few attempts and scored.
  9. Obviously sometimes when new managers come into a club there is a sudden change in fortune. Not always, in fact it's probably no more than not... as your point suggests. What I was suggesting is that Bruce happened to have a change in fortune and having seen the last few performances, I'm starting to think that it was very much just due to a change in approach/new face rather than some sustained difference. I wasn't over the moon with bruce's appointment but the guy (as a guy) has grown on me. I think he is probably the right man for a team wanting to challenge for promotion If the environment is correct. I don't fwiw, believe he is a man that can overturn this rotten environment that the club has endured for a number of years that has slowly started to creep back into performances. His choice to include gabby for example just proves that he is in no way shape or form going to change the attitude of this club quickly.
  10. I genuinely think it was the worst performance I've ever seen from a villa side. My opinion wasn't kneejerk the other night and the signs were there on Saturday in abundance. The new manager bounce has gone. That's all it was imo as it stands and yet again I'm wondering whether the football team I support is capable of performing the very basics of football skills.
  11. Dare I say it, Scott Sinclair would add balance and a bit of creativity.
  12. Well he is gash as well. But quite a few come in for criticism If you read the forum. It really isn't just Westwood.
  13. Wow. I'm sorry but what has this got to do with anything?
  14. His latest performance shows that he just doesn't show. Simple as. Plays. But runs away from any responsibility whatsoever.
  15. Well. That's an opinion that's probably come about over the last 5/6 years. The fact we've gone from 6th in the prem to 13th in the championship pretty much confirms to me that more things are poor than good imo. I don't think things are poor in some weird villa vendetta way. I think they are poor because they actually are and there is very little to prove otherwise really given the last half decade.
  16. I thought he was poor from day 1 bar a few games near the end of his first season.
  17. Not really. It was blindingly obvious.
  18. Crazy post. I'm sorry but to say he played a big role in keeping us up is a joke. As soon as he became the most senior player in the midfield we went down in our poorest season. He was carried by Delph no question. A truly terrible player. Some of us have seen it since day 1. And we're equally amazed that there are still people who don't see it.
