  1. One. Chelsea. Although I agree, Sidwell off for NRC
  2. I was really impressed with Lennon against Croatia tbh, skinned the Croatian defenders time and again and made a few quality crosses. But I havent had the chance to watch him regularly so there.
  3. Nobody mentions how Lennon should be picked ahead of SWP and Walcott. Milner is cover for the left wing slot anyway.
  4. Im just 17 so sorry but Asia where I live seems like its booming again...I just dont get it. Im no economist, sorry.
  5. Never said the same thing about Christ-iano did he.
  6. I think he'll struggle to get back into the Villa team, England is a million miles away for him. Disagree all he needs is that consistency. If Ferdinand continues his shitty form theres no reason why Davies cannot become the next big name English defender. There's Jagielka to contend with though. Astounding how nobody's talked about him. Everton right now missing him big time.
  7. Have to agree with Glaston here, Lennon looks very impressive this season. I havent watched him a lot tbh to say whether his crossing's been good enough but certainly I have seen enough to think he's the only player in the league who can zip past players like that. Still, I think I would pick Milner over Lennon for the England right mid slot for his strength and defensive work, which is necessary considering you have Glen Johnson behind you. Bring on a fresh Lennon if things arent going so well after 60 minutes. And I think we will win if Bentley plays =)
  8. Sun Jihai's past it. China didnt qualify for the last 2 WCs, what a testimony to their quality. I think Zheng Zhi...well enough said.
  9. Hey Gen First time posting here but as a fan from Asia (needless to say I've never had the honor of seeing Villa Park with my own eyes ) I just wanna ask if the club are doing anything to increase its presence beyond Europe?
  10. As opposed to Korea producing good ones? Ji-Sung Park, no? That one who was at Reading and Wolves for a bit, then maybe Fulham I seem to remember was pretty good too. I remember him looking very good against us in MON's first home game. Seol Ki-Hyung maybe? Something like that. Seol Ki Hyeon. Pretty good, has a very good header for a winger. Korea produces good wingers and decent forwards but shit defenders so I wouldnt say Korea produces shite footballers. China on the other hand...
  11. Dude he's Korean...China has and will always produce shite football players
  12. Yes he is. I think a lot of people here fail to see how important having a manager who stays for a long time is important if you want long term success in this league. You can afford to do it if you're Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona because you're supported by unlimited money. But if we look at supposed good managers like Moyes, Ferguson, Wenger etc they all have smth in common in that they have all been given lots of time to build their squads and mould them in the way they want their players to play. FFS Moyes almost got Everton relegated the first time didnt he?
  13. At least it probably means Luke Young starts the next match. At right back, not left.
  14. Yes. But they are younger so they have the potential to be better. I think a lot of people underrate Kuyt's passing abilities just because he's a workhorse. Yes, but he was terrific against Utd. And if you watch closer btw it shouldnt even have been a card cos Owen was pulling Carragher's arm. That's IMO of course. No. But doesnt take away from the fact that he's a terrific player. I would take Benayoun as our second striker. Possibly? IMO only VDS comes close to his quality. His kicking is no doubt the best, as is his shot stopping ability. If you watch him you notice that he's very comfortable with crosses these days, which was his big weakness in years gone by. Cech seems very average nowadays after his injury, Foster is crap, Friedel - okay he's very good, but is his kicking and reflexes anyway near Reina's? I think Liverpool are just off form atm, they proved their quality against Man Utd. Theres no doubt in my mind that we still have some way to go to match Plop's starting XI, but we do have a (relatively) young team so there's a lot of promise there. Pool's problem IMO is that they dont have a decent striker to back up Torres (Kuyt doesnt have the same kind of movement and usually he plays right wing anyway where he's more effective, N'gog and Voronin are just woeful.) and the fact that they havent replaced Alonso, who allows them to control games, something they havent done this season IMO
  15. Thought we looked quite vulnerable from set pieces. Dunne and Collins werent winning everything in the air unlike the Chelsea match
  16. I have no idea why we were not up to the mark offensively and defensively at set pieces today tbh
  17. Dont slate Gabby I think hes done all he could so far. If he had a killer instinct he would be better than Torres by now ffs Carew needs to up his game, midfield needs to toughen up, and we look strangely weak at the set pieces
  18. Tbf, Baros isnt that bad - top scorer in the Turkish league, European Cup winner, Euro top scorer. He just didnt perform well for us.
  19. Merson shouldnt really be in this poll IMO he's not a typical central midfield player more of a no. 10 hole kind of footballer
