  1. Be such a shame if he does go as he has so much to offer in there somewhere!
  2. We've got some fantastic players in the team now, and I class Ireland as one of them, if he could find his form, then him linking with Bent and Young could be phenomenal, the thought is exciting that we have these players at our disposal, it's just trying to get it to happen for Ireland! So frustrating. Imagine coming up against those 3 plus the likes of Gabby, Albrighton and Downing to an extent, with Makoun et al behind... Mouthwatering. Please GH let it happen!!
  3. Muntari to talk to Sunderland... good player, scored some screamers for Pompey over here last time, would link up with the other Ghanains (sp) there.
  4. I was well impressed with him to be honest, once he settles he looks like he could be a top plyer for us. His passing and incisiveness was a class above from what I saw, he shipped the ball off quickly and crisply. I'm happy with this purchase so far.
  5. Get in! Happy with this, a real signal of our intentions and that RL means business. I think he'll end up our top scorer this season, he hasn't got much catching up to do to be fair!
  6. Have to admit, this made me laugh: "What a strikeforce Villa will have. Young and Bent. Just like their fans." To be fair that did make me laugh! Would be a good combo though, a striker with movement and a predatory instinct, I'm in heaven.
  7. Fantastic bit of business, and real sign of intent from RL and GH. Who said we had no money?? I'm delighted with this if it goes through, his goalscoring is second to none, and anyone who doubts this is mad! MM you tease... I'm excited already... couldn't take much more, RL really has opened up his cheque book!
  8. Just started a game with Villa. Struggling to off-load any of my players, can't shift Heskey or Davies. I've signed Anthony Annan, Oscar Cardoza and a young left back whose name I can't remember now. Got Cardoza for 10m and Annan for 2.8m, had to readjust my budgets just afford Annan's 28k a week wages, thank's to O'Neill dishing out mega money to any he fancied! Might try and shift Beye to clear some wages, to see if anybody is interested. Only just about to play my first league game after a good pre-season.
  9. I think with GH studying Wolves all week he will win a tactical battle with Mick McCarthy as McCarthy won't know what to expect from us. It will be a tight one imo with us edging it 2-1 or 1-0. I agree we need 3 in the middle of the park and ensure that the animal Karl Henry can't get near us to try and snap some legs. Looking forward to this.
  10. His reign has officially started. Now sort us out GH, get us winning games monsieur!
  11. Thank God Mac's reign is over now and Houllier can come in and sort us out, because we are capable but we are clearly lacking a leader, as Mac clearly wasn't seen as this, now with Houllier he can come in and kick some arse's into shape. Not enough points on the board considering the teams we've played at the start of the season. I still think we can still finish top 7 definitely as the season has only just started, but hopefully GH can see our weaknesses sort us out and push us forward. Welcome Mr H. You will need to earn your money getting us playing as we can, much better than today.
  12. It's great to hear GH and Mac have been in frequent contact, 2 or 3 times a day, and even talking about the reserves, fills me with optimism and hope for the future. I can't wait for his reign to start now as it has been so long in coming!!
  13. Gotta fancy 3 points tomorrow, but I don't think it will be as comfortable as some are making out, I'm going for a 1-0 or 2-1 win, I really can't see us losing it *touches wood*.
  14. Fair play to him, nice place apart from a few cheesy parts, but if the pink room belongs to a child (not sure if he has any??) then fair enough, and the pool table is questionable!! Nice place though, should be on Grand Designs by the look of it.
  15. Is that you MON?? We had wondered where you had gone!! I'd take a draw away at Stoke to be honest, especially with Mac still handling first team affairs, hopefully he has learnt from his naivity and we won't get embarassed again. I'm saying either 1-1 or a tight 2-1 victory with a Gabby on the scoresheet.
  16. Why? Anyway when is he coming then as I have been out all afternoon and just heard something on the radio about worst case scenario being three months? What is that about? French law states he needs to stay for 3 months to end his contract, however he can negotiate with the FFF to end it sooner, which he is very confident will happen next week after he has fulfilled a few obligations. No major issue imo, will be in the stands for Bolton and in charge for B'Burn in the cup.
  17. Really impressed with Houllier, seems confident and raring to go. I'm sure he will have a hand in assisting Mac for the next couple of games until he takes the reigns fully. Loving those pictures of him, especially the dug out one. :lo: From what he has said I think there is money there for him to spend, and aiming for the Champions League in 3 years suits me.
  18. This. What happens now?? I'm thinking of taking up cross stitch...
  19. What's the email address for Sky Sports?? I'm going to get in on this and push the point over that they're wrong!!
  20. Great appointment. Much better than the majority of us were expecting. I think it will prove to be a shrewd move from Randy. Can't wait for Monday night now. Proud history. Bright future.
  21. I'm fully behind Houllier and delighted that a breath of fresh air is blowing through VP now. I'm delighted that RL didn't let his heart rule his head and he didn't appoint Mac, as that could have been potentially disasterous. Proud History. Bright Future. Indeed it is!
  22. Fair play to Matt Kendrick, hats off. A new era officially begins and I can't wait!!
