    I think him and Bent will be a force to be reckoned with this season, can see them striking up a good partnership now we have a manager willing to pass the half way line.

    Vlaar's agent is saving face for his client, Vlaar threw it out there that it would be 'dream move' and now he's stranded at Feyenoord 'for now'.

    Vlaar's agent is going to portray it in that light though isn't he? He's not going make his client look a fool in public as Villa never got back to him.

    Maybe I'm different but I still believe that player is in there still and it just needs to be brought out of him again. After his bad luck with injuries and the changing of management he hasn't developed as we'd all hoped by this stage, but he still has the potential to fix his game and be a good player for us IMO. PL must see something in him to give him the armband, now its down to Delph where he goes from here.

    Was made captain at the weekend in the absence of Bent, surely a sign he's in Lamberts plans, or was it a come on so step up to the plate kick up the arse? Nothing much has been said about him being captain against the Fire. I'm a firm believer Delph has what it takes to be a first choice reliable good performer for us, and potentially captain material.

    I get the impression from Lambert he is the type of guy to not take too kindly to ultimatums, not sure if I can see this one materialising now.

    I'd say theres more to it than just a chat to be honest but at this stage Lambert isn't going to let anything on until it's cut and dried IMO. Still a few days to run on this one I reckon.

    Sounds like a matter of time now, the owner and Koeman speaking out as though he's pretty much gone. Fingers crossed now. Get him on that plane to USA.

    Not seen anything of this Bennett lad, but he's highly rated and a good price. He can't be worse than Warnock has been for 18 months. Roll on the summer of change and optimism.

    Bit of both I think! I want Vlaar to be in done and dusted already! Get him in the group and settled next to his CB partner.

    West Ham won't pay 15m for him, and can't see him going to QPR. Villa would be a good move for him, but if he has the choice of here or Newcastle there's only going to be one winner.

    Where has anybody anywhere said there's a lack of transfer funds?! Seems to me PL has spent wisely so far and there's money there if he wants it, which has always been the case since Lerner took over. As for Carroll could be class, I think I'd be willing to take the risk on him, I quite like him as a player.

    I love Stephen Ireland... There I said it. It's true. He can be the difference this season linking with Bent and N'Zogbia. So excited for this season.

    Would Owen come here to play second fiddle to Bent? I can't see it. I'd be intrigued to see how'd they play together, different types of player to a degree but also similar in that live and breath goals.

    Betbatov and Owen would both be steps in the wrong direction, both older players earning big bucks, who've been there and done it, not quite fitting with the young and hungry theme. As for Simpson, a Man U kid who left for first team football and has done well in a good Newcastle side, wouldn't say no to him.

    Hopefully we will hear something today, it's my day off so fingers crossed! I think he'll do well here and be the dominant ball playing defender we need.

    Not even Kendrick, Nursey or Abraham. Not a peep. No ITK is ITK at the minute IMO. I'm surprised this is still lost on some people. Kendrick and Abrahams in particular ONLY report thing the club wants them to report. Technically, they're not "ITK". The "ITK" stuff we hear from them is intentionally fed to them by the club. As in, Faulkner. Not so sure about Nursey. Isn't he just a bottom feeder? No I get the journos are only told what the club want them to report, my comment about ITK's was a general comment about all the people on twitter and on here haven't got a single thing right so far.

    Would be chuffed if we sign Vlaar, always rated him. He seems keen, looks to be taking pics of the Holte while he unknowingly has his pic taken! Wonder where they hid Vlaar when PL and his agent came down near the changing rooms

    I can't see why PL would show round sponsors, that's be Faulkners job surely not the team manager. I reckon it's got to be a player, the chap in the blue shirt most likely, but who I do not know.

    Sounds like the Huntelaar sighting again when it turned out to be Steve Strides son!! Probably nothing to be fair, most likely it's some unknown and his agent. Doesn't look like de Jong or Ramis to me. The one on the left could be Karl Pilkington maybe?!
