  1. I'd renew my season ticket even if Phil Brown was in charge. It's more the cost of the thing that dictates whether i have one as opposed to whether i like the approach of the manager of the team.
  2. Cracking day out, incredibly annoying that our flags and banner were rejected on the grounds that they hadn't been fireproofed. Thankfully they didn't demand that we fireproofed the confetti! Our confidence as a team is clearly low at the moment, that was evident form when they scored the penalty and our heads dropped. It was alsmot as if an equaliser was inevitable. However we scored 3 goals of the higest quality, two of which were well worked team efforts that i hope give us a glimpse of the technical ability that Houllier is trying to instill in the team.
  3. What do you mean by the last part mate? Surely replacing Houllier with another manager isn't going to make us any more of an attractive prospect for any players we can actually afford, let alone mean that the new manager would bring in decent signings, if any at all. If you want to give abuse to the team or manager wouldn't it be better to do it after the game if you see fit to do so? I couldn't bring myself to rip it out of the team while they're playing, especially not while they're still in the game. 100% support for the lads on the pitch while they're playing. UTV.
  4. I'd play the same team that started last night but with Kyle Walker in for Cuellar if he signs in time. I don't think it's a matter of resting layers but rather getting those we have the gel and get some time playing together. We haven't had a stable team all season so getting those 11 who played against Sunderland playing together (minus cuellar) would be a better idea than chopping and changing again. I'd love a run in the cup, it'd take our minds off the dire league situation to a degree while not really straining the resources we have available. 1-2 villa
  5. I'm surprised there's that many left this late in the day, it's fairly unlikely that we'll sell this out now unless we pull off some sort of Brazil circa 1970 performance against Sunderland.
  6. I got 3 in the upper tier, row D, gangway C. I'm not sure how many we've sold but I the girl on the phone told me we don't have many left, so I'm very pleased to have ended up with the seats I have done I'm in the upper tier as well my tickets arrived yesterday. Does that mean we have sold the lower and we only have a few left in the upper? It sounds that way. When i asked they said they only had tickets in the upper tier. Does anyone know how many rows are in the upper tier? I asked for a seat near the back but got given a ticket in row J, surely that isn't anywhere near the back?
  7. It's worrying that he says the job is bigger than he thought and adds "for many reasons", it sounds like there are serious problems at the club that he wasn't aware of when he signed up for the job, that or these problems have materialised since he joined. Oh and Carew can **** off now, he has about as much interest in playing for the villa as i have in playing 5-a-side the day after a massive session on the booze, he's an amateur.
  8. Really assured performance from the lads, we kept the ball brilliantly at times, especially in our own half. There was one occasion in particular when we broke from a corner late on a 2 of our players played it between each other on about 4 occasions to calm the tempo of the game down and allow our lads to catch a breath, extraorinary stuff. On a serious note it's a sign of how bad things have become with people calling for Sam Allardyce, good lord!
  9. There's a couple of pubs near the train station that were full of Villa when i went up 2 years ago, one was a spoons though i can't remember the name of either, just look for a pub with a few villa tops in and pop your head in.
  10. The away pub is called the Red Robin and is located opposite the Cinema complex by the ground. I think in reality there's probably only about 1 pub in Wigan which won't be predominantly villa on the day, it's one of those places we really take over (if we sell out).
  11. I hope their under soil heating doesn't pack in like last year, i'm really looking foward to this game for the 3 points and as a kick start to the festive period.
  12. As I said its people that generate atmosphere nothing more. That only about 8 of you wanted to stand up in that section of the north stand is evident of those willing in participation. Did the Rapid fans generate the atmosphere sitting on their arses? In all fairness i think that after some protracted discussions with the stewards and some stubborness on the fans part, around half that section of the north were standing. I'd love to see the lower holte converted to a standing area, i'm sure it would attract some of the more vociferous fans back from the lower north to their rightful home.
  13. I never had the opportunity to stand in the old holte as my dad would always insist on sitting in the Trinity or Witton stands, but i'd love to stand at a home game without a steward being obliged to be a pain in the arse all game. For what it's worth i've emailed my PM on this (there's a link of the FSF webpage) to ask him to support the bid. I know politicians don't tend to represent our interests but it's wort a try. I think it'd go a long way to reinvigorating the atmopshere down VP if we had an all standing stand or area of a stand, plus there would presumably be the option to make standing tickets cheaper than sitting ones which would allow some people who've been priced out of the ground to come back. Whether the club would actually make these tickets cheaper is another matter.
  14. Amen to that. I'll follow villa through thick and thin, even if we were playing in the conference i would attend every game i could afford to. All backing to Houllier and the team.
  15. General, i'd just like to say that I and many others are fully behind Gerard Houllier and the team at Villa. We've been plagued by injuries this season which have taken a toll on the team and results since Gerard's appointment but i have every faith that we will start winning mroe games when we have more than half our squad to choose from. No one thought this season would be easy with the events of the summer and it's so far proven to be testing, however i'm sure the gaffer will turn our fortunes round given time and support. UTV!
  16. I don't understand why some villa thought it would be a good idea to lob seats from the back of the away end, all they're going to do is hit other Villa! It was just **** stupid, if you really want to throw seast at words removed on the pitch then at least go close enough to them. Methinks you are missing the point. If people want to go to a sporting event and throw the fixed-down seating at the opposing team's supporters, there is a problem. I'm not going to differentiate between Villa and Blues here. That behaviour is uncalled for. It's only a **** football match. I wish the tribal inbred words removed, both Blues AND Villa would just **** off and leave this sport alone. Any Villa fans that intentionally got involved last night are dog raping spastics. Nice to see your Brigada ultras sig under a post advocating violence as well! Good one mate, I post saying that people lobbing seats from the back were "stupid" and that IF they wanted to throw seats at blues why didn't they go closer to them and you interpret this as "advocating violence", it's called pointing out the bleeding obvious.
  17. It was reported on one newspaper website that there had been 9 arrests last night....I heard that and laughed. All the police want to do nowadays is catch everything on film, then print the pictures in the Evening Mail for people say who they are then do some dawn raids. W-M-P **** useless. Presumably they expect us defend ourselves when confronted with a mob of knuckledraggers then? Hardly going to deter hooliganism is it.
  18. I don't understand why some villa thought it would be a good idea to lob seats from the back of the away end, all they're going to do is hit other Villa! It was just **** stupid, if you really want to throw seast at words removed on the pitch then at least go close enough to them.
  19. Sorry to hear that mate and i hope you're ok apart from being shaken. It was going off before the game with villa fans being battered by lulu's andlowlifes. The police seem to just record all this for later prosecutions but that does **** all to help the fans getting a beating, they're absolute scum.
  20. The noses stormed the pitch and headed for the away end, they got right up to the end of the pitch where police stopped them advancing any further, at that point chairs were ripped out and thrown at the noses, there were also a couple of flares that were thrown at the noses on the pitch and then back into the away end. Blues were spitting on villa from above as usual. The Gill Merrick end is going to need a complete refurbishment, i wouldn't have thought there's a toilet or sink left in the end. Heard the Lulu's were on the rampage before the game, a number of scarfers got battered on the way in.
  21. You have to tie them in to AR and AP really to help you with all that I wish Gabby all the best too Richard.
  22. Just sat through a 2 hour talk on purchase order monitoring, i honestly didn't take a single word in. It's hard enough to concentrate on that kind of interminable bollocks at the best of time! C'mon Villa!
  23. If we do win this the chances of me making work tomorrow are slim to none. Come on you Villa boys!
  24. I've heard it from a reliable source that blues will be looking to ambush villa fans coming off the train at New Street, he's had this information from a lad whose been told to steer clear of the station. Just be careful if you're getting off the train at New Street, obviously don't be wearing colours and keep your wits about you.
