  1. Hi General, Did you miss my question? Or didn't it count because i didn't addres your good self by your proper standing :winkold: thanks again
  2. Are you loopy? England and Wales only get 8 bank holidays a year compared to Scotland and Ireland's 10 (and I'm fairly certain we stack up even worse against Europe and the rest of the world). The "employers" (sounds ominous) can do one. I may go to work on principle on 29th April but i'm with Gareth on this, we're overworked and underpaid in this country so a day off, even if it is in respect of a bloody royal, is welcomed.
  3. Bit of a random question but does anyone know how many rows there are in the Gil Merrick lower?
  4. Yeah it only mentions Villa once, it's still a cracking song for football though.
  5. I don't see what's wrong with down, down, Downing, down, down Downing, down down Downing, da-da-da-da-da, da-da-da-da-da-da-da, down, down, downing etc etc. Don't know if anybody else heard it at Fulham but the following was quality; When i see you Villa, i go out my head i just can't get enough i just can't get enough all the things you do to me and all the things you say i just can't get enough i just can't get enough we slip and slide as we fall in love and i just can't seem to get enough no da-da-da da-da-da da-da-da da-da-da etc To the Tune of Depeche Mode-Can't get enough
  6. Hi Mr Krulak Do you know if fans will be allowed to take flags into the League Cup Quarter Final at St Andrews on 1st December? Last time i was at an away game at Blues the stewards in the away end included those who work at Villa Park, will it be the clubs decision whether we can take flags in or Birmingham City's? many thanks
  7. The same logic that leads wolves fans to sing "veela, veela", as if they've spent too much time in the upper north.
  8. Because we eat a lot of tuna and like to lounge around in harbours? :?
  9. Yeah, i bet it's going to be a bit like a Chinese school visit to London for the royal wedding, people will be battling for vantage points from which to video blokes doing pavement dancing, i expect youtube will probably crash on the thursday morning from the sheer weight of uploads.
  10. Not at all mate, last year you could just leave but it depends what's happening, the season before Villa were kept in the car park for about an hour after game. It really depends what west midlands finest fancy doing on the day.
  11. One of, if not the best mate.
  12. We could have walked over the island near the ground and back through Digbeth, but seeing the smashed police landrover and groups of knuckledraggers loitering around and it being obvious we were coming from the Villa section we decided to bide our time, next thing we know we're in a cordon.
  13. When i was a young boy i fell over on regular occasions, often grazing by knees or bruising my elbows, nearly always i fell from a standing position, on one occasion i even broke an arm after falling whilst playing football, again i was in a standing position before i fell. These days i don't tend to fall over as often, but when i do i am invaribly standing up at the time. For me the connection is clear, you're more likely to fall over when standing than when sitting or lying in bed, i don't know about you but i'm going to remain seated or in a horizontal postion as regularly as i can, standing up just isn't worth the risk.

    Pubs

It's quite surreal hearing that suggestion from someone with Goya's Dog as their avatar. Then again i don't suppose Goya ever attended a Villa/Blues derby match.
  15. I **** hope not, that's asking for trouble after what happened a few years ago when they did the same. Add into the mix the dark of night as a hiding place for the Small Heath scum and its a recipe for disaster. Where have you heard this??? I'm inclined to agree. Keeping us in will just give the knuckledraggers time to get tpgether, stash bottles and other missiles and get more and more wound up. The police don't seem to have a much of a clue how to deal with this fixture at Blues. Last season we were marched all around Saltley industrial estate in a cordon, only for the cordon to teake us to Duddeston and **** off leaving us to walk past a couple of nose pubs in dribs and drabs, the same nose pubs they marched us around the industrial estate to avoid!
  16. The ticket line was almost as busy as the Ajax game today, spent a good 30 minutes trying to get through then another 10 on hold. Got there in the end though. Sympathies to those who couldn't get a ticket, it's a disgrace that the reduction of our allocation hasn't been challenged.
  17. We've got our retards too mate, but i've never seen villa fans lobbing bottles into a random crowd of away fans like they tend to do at Blues. Course all noses aren't complete morons but they seem to have a higher percenate than other clubs.
  18. It happened last year, some chap got hit by a coin thrown from the upper tier when we scored and was fairly bloodied. It says a lot about their fans that rather than looking foward to the game, the atmopshere and the chance of securing a League Cup semi-final spot they are more concerned with abusing or assaulting Villa fans.
  19. Any songs relating to Tracey Andrews are pretty nasty and entirely innappropriate but i have to admit that i sing them and i've sung worse. You'd never glorify murderes in normal life but this is Football, it's almost like an art form in the fact that you can get away with almost anything that winds up the opposition supporters.
  20. We started the shoes off chant but never expected it to spread across pretty much the whole away end, that was something else! Now why can't we be like this at home?
  21. Fulham is a belter of an away day, up there with Wigan as my favourite. Never heard of this Zulu bar but it sounds very friendly, reckon i'll be in the 8 Bells as it's on the way to the ground from Putney Bridge tube. Bring it!
  22. There's a good post on this in the questions for the general thread. http://www.villatalk.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=64255&start=375 Every group of away fans that i know of stand up, at grounds around the country home fans stand up. The whole "health & safety" facade is a joke and a poor one at that, i'm not going to turn on fellow fans for standing up and supporting their team, this is what we're supposed to be doing as fans!
  23. Birmingham City Council are an absolute joke, they seem inept in every field of their work and now they've gone and reduced our allocation for "persistent standing", we stand wherever we go, all away fans do, this is how we've done it for years, it's how we support our team, there is no health and safety issue that i'm aware of, i have two legs they are for standing and wlaking, i am in no danger to myself by using them! Is this the same Birmingham City Council that suggested we change our name to Birmingham Villa because the name Aston Villa doesn't give any indication of where the club is from? These people are absolute morons.
  24. I wouldn't have thought any are left, weren't there around 20 tickets left last week?
