  1. Man City have been the best team in the world for a couple of years, but this season? Nah. Very effective beating Burnley and Sheffield, but their record against better teams this season has been weak. Nowhere near as good as last season.
  2. Poor Sule. He is big, but you know what? If he wasn’t very very fit he’d never play at this level. Bonus info: he’s also a really fast runner.
  3. Dougie has been the single most important player in the Emery revolution. Unai has trusted him, argued with him during games and put the whole weight of the club on his shoulders, more or less. Dougie is brilliant. I suspect we will try and replace him with Barkley (similar attributes) and I pray it’ll work at least somewhat. No doubt it’ll be a PSR masterstroke to sell Dougie for 50-60m and get Barkley in for 2m.
  4. A deep bench player has someone on top of him.
  5. He has been very good at Luton but by God there are many question marks. Contract length being the biggest one.
  6. In hindsight the right time to sell him was probably in 2022 when Sevilla sold him, after some great seasons.
  7. You’re absolutely right. The rules still apply: don’t sign mediocre players. But If you do, don’t pay them high wages. And If you do, at least don’t hand out long contracts.
  8. But Burnley will be aiming to bounce back up, and then Archer would be in their squad at Prem level again.
  9. Is Haaland even the best striker from Norway? Sorloth just scored 4 against Real Madrid and is winning the golden boot in La Liga.
  10. He just assisted the assist for a Villarreal goal!
  11. Some bloke called Bertie Traore just came on for Villarreal against Real Madrid btw.
  12. How is everyone so confident he won’t be here next season? One year left on contract and buyers hardly queueing up.
  13. Just checked, seems to expire now. Props to Gerrard for not giving him 5 years.
  14. His contract isn’t up is it? Doubt anyone will come and buy him.
  15. He’s really bad at running in general.
  16. Palace remind me of us one year ago. Manager change mid-season, drastic change of playing style, main striker firing on all cylinders, ending the season on a high.
  17. They’ve also been having so much fun these last two months and are absolutely flying. Very happy to be playing in front of their fans.
  18. This would feel worse if we weren’t playing the most in-form team in Europe bar Leverkusen. Some people still seem to think ”but it’s only Palace”.
  19. That’s right. But Glasner’s effective high pressing style leads to a lot of high turnovers and great chances for Mateta, so no surprise it’s had such a quick effect for them/him.
  20. That’s what getting a really good manager in can do (Glasner). Much like Watkins and Emery actually.
  21. Wharton’s stock has gone through the roof lately. If we could buy him, he would be the best ball winner we ever had.
  22. I also knew we’d lose against Palace as they’ve been brilliant lately and we haven’t. At least it doesn’t matter much.
  23. Isn’t it the fact that City historically have had Hotspur Stadium as their bogey stadium? No matter how shit Spurs have been previously they’ve somehow always got results at home against City. At least City have scored a goal at that stadium now (in the cup) so hopefully the curse is broken.
