    Read something that said this was perfect for Barkley. He's always been stuck in rigid positions that don't allow him any freedom and in our squad he gets that. Luiz and McGinn take most of the defensive responsibilities in the midfield leaving him to become a playmaker. It's a terrible paraphrase but the gist of it lol.

    Maybe I miss heard him but not a single thing Preece claimed Dean said was actually said. Only thing about transfers was him saying he wasn't sure. Regardless, we will know by tomorrow night.

    I would say the biggest difference is Barkley 6’2” 190 vs Hourihane at 5’11” 140, lol.

    Let’s see how they do with a little adversity. Match congestion, poor form, Injuries will test this team. But I say Top 10. Yes pool were without some players and it was probably an off-day for them but we dismantled their defense and did very well not to let them get into a rhythm. It wasn’t like we were getting lucky with counters nor was it a nail- biting 1-nil win. We handily beat them with a much better execution of a game plan. This team has a ton of ability and as Dean said, they set the bar for expectations this season.

    Obviously it's impossible to compare Eduoard and Watkins but my word, I've never been so happy to be so wrong on a player. Never gave Watkins a fair shake. I know, only 3 games in, long way to go, coming off a high yada yada.. He is so impressive.
