Fair enough. I do agree though. Given the evidence, common sense would suggest we aren’t in for a £30+ million striker after having spent £30+ million on one while sitting at about £90 million total with pressing issues elsewhere on the pitch.

You’re getting a little defensive about this. He wasn’t suggesting anything about Smith making stuff up in the post you quoted.

Too be fair I don’t think people, from what I’ve read on this board, are asking for stockpiling of players. The comments I’ve seen are just opinions on which positions people think need more signings to better the squad and add quality depth, not adding bodies for the sake of adding bodies.
