  1. Anyone who doesn't think he's signing is in-de-nile...
  2. Looking at both those teams, there's an argument we are stronger in a few positions now but then you get to Wesley and we just have no idea how that's going to work out, but then I suppose many people were saying Tammy wasn't good enough for the Premier League. It will be very interesting to see if we get another forward in, I like the business we've been doing but if we are putting most of our goal-scoring eggs in a Wesley shaped basket that does seem quite the risk...
  3. He was on loan at Carlisle, from what I saw of his highlights there he looks very promising, we should continue to invest in him and see what we happens!
  4. I always thought we'd spend around £100m, simply because we had so many players to buy, looks like we might go beyond that now as there's still more needed, be interesting to see what the final figure will be.
  5. I think that depends very much on how much is required and what is already in place, in our case we have little choice but to buy what would probably be too many for most cases, but we are a unique in this window. I'd say most settled teams tend to bring in 5 or 6 a few to improve the first team and a few to improve the squad, the big teams often only 2-3 if everyone is happy to add to what they have. Occasionally you get overhauls but the benefit rarely shows until a season or two later when everyone has bedded in. In many ways the work Dean and the boys do between now and the start of the season, integrating players, team bonding, work on the training pitch is vitally important and will have a big impact on our season. I'm glad we have so many bodies in place for it and the sooner we get the ones we still need over the line the better!
  6. Will see what I can do, might run out of room at this rate!
  7. https://www.mancity.com/news/first-team/first-team-news/2019/july/man-city-sign-rodri-transfer-news-atletico-madrid This do?
  8. I think it's funny we've asked about Sessegnon, but most likely he's headed to Spuds or Pool, they've shown plenty of interest and should a reasonable fee be agreed they'll be all over it, it's nice to dream though!
  9. Man City have just signed Rodri for massive money to be their Fernandinho replacement. This buy back may just be some insurance for them in case that doesn't work out. As good as this Luiz guy looks he's unlikely to ever get regular game time at City until Fernandinho retires, and by then they'll have likely bought a couple more big money midfielders, they are just hedging their bets, Barca and Real do it all the time but it's not all that often they actual use these clauses. From City's point of view they've got a player they can't play who likely won't make their first team, so why not get some cash in for them to at least pretend they trying to balance the books and if he turns out to be Messi/Ronaldo level then they have an easy pathway to getting him back. In truth what's more likely is they will move him on to us and then find a new shiny thing to throw their money at and forget all about him. Would we rather the clause not be in the deal? Of course. Would we be able to sign him without the clause? Probably not. I don't like being at the whim of the Man City machine, but I do like having very good players at Aston Villa.
  10. Looking at this he doesn't exactly tick the boxes we've been looking for...
  11. Wolves are pretty stocked in center midfield with Neves, Moutinho, Dendoncker, Sais, and Gibbs-White. Unless they are selling Neves I can't see as he'd be a priority for them.
  12. I saw this on Transfermarkt although it had the date as July 1st. So, I'm guessing he was on loan with an option or obligation to buy. Reims could make a quick profit if the rumour is true.
  13. I've never known a minimum fee release clause to include any kind of sell on fee clause. Do you know of any examples where it has? As I understand it once an offer reaches the minimum fee in the clause the selling club no longer has any say in clauses etc. of the deal, so it would of had to of been agreed with Konsa and his agent when he signed for you, and then we'd of had to of agreed to it when our bid was accepted. You may be right I just can't recall it ever happening before so it may be a unique deal if it is the case.
