  1. I’m saying it because I believe it would work too. He’s an Elmo in the making.
  2. If Trez wants to stay at VP he needs to be turned into a RB.
  3. But ultimately without enough talent needed for the Prem. To think some people were talking about him being miles ahead of AEG was just laughable.
  4. But as I’ve said it wouldn’t have been £10m for us, more like £20m.
  5. Trez is terrible. AEG was a bargain at the time. I actually don’t think the problem is with Rashica…..I think it was his agent doing all the unnecessary talking.
  6. I hope so, I really do. I would ask the question how we feel about our signings if we do sell Jack. Will they be enough?
  7. Why am I a troll? Just because I make a comment you disagree with??
  8. Because we have AEG, Traore, Trez, JBP…… Alvarez can properly play up front. if we are considering selling Jack then yea £10m is worth a punt….but it’s £10m for Norwich and £20m for Villa.
  9. Nah, we decided to pay 3x as much for Beundia. Championship better than Bundesliga.
  10. Looks like it’s true and that’s hilarious.
  11. Norwich have consistently said that they will sell players if the right bid comes in.
  12. I’m going to be clear on this. I’d have preferred Benrahma over Traore last year but Traore impresses at times. So unless Beundia plays centrally, the cumulative cost of our RW is going to be twice what we could have got Benrahma for. Now if billionaires (real ones vs Dr Broke) are prepared to take that hit then that’s fine.
  13. As I just said, right bid and Norwich sell.
  14. Everybody at any time is for sale at Norwich so try again on that front. I’d love to know the criteria for those chances created though given that Pukki is known for his finishing.
  15. As I just said, why did we opt for Traore or Barkley last summer over Beundia? He should not have cost anymore than Benrahma imo.
  16. If he was that good why didn’t we buy him rather than Traore or Barkley on loan? Just saying….
  17. Really. So a player totally unproven in the Prem (remember just one goal, a few assists) is worth 1/3 of what we would expect from Jack? Emile Smith Rowe is by miles the better prospect - proven in the Prem, younger etc- and would cost us not much too far north of Beundia should Arsenal wish to sell. Make no mistake about it, we overpaid for Beundia. Base of £33m this season vs £27m for Benrahma last season…..and I’d still rather have Benrahma tbo.
  18. We kind of overpaid for Beundia but if we can bring Alvarez through at £15m I think we’ve got ourselves a bargain. Maybe Martinez brought in Beundia and both of them persuaded Alvarez to choose Villa over Ajax.
  19. Quite excited by the link to Alvarez. Never heard of him until yesterday but from what I’ve seen on YooTube he looks exactly what we need which is a ST/RW. Funnily enough his style of play kind of reminds me of that Scottish play called Raschica…… Really hope this isn’t agents talk and that Beundia and Martinez do their part and persuade him to come to Villa over Ajax.
  20. Haven’t followed the comments on this thread over the last few days. Is the feeling about the Olise and Brooks rumours that it’s one or the other or both?

    Dry January

Just saw this.....a Keto diet really doesn’t have to be expensive cuts of meat - it can be basic eggs, cheese, bacon, decent sausages, mushrooms, tinned fish and the right veg (not fruit). Also, as I’m sure you found you feel fuller for much, much longer so don’t snack, eat smaller portion size and maybe eat just twice a day rather than three times a day. And obviously if you combine it with quitting alcohol and you’re seriously quids in.

    Dry January

It’s funny but I stopped drinking Christmas Day (2019) but that was after trying countless times without much success. I managed to get to New Year alright and then I think what MASSIVELY helped quitting booze (ie craving alcohol) AND losing weight was doing a strict Keto diet. After one week I’d lost half a stone and the positive effect of Ketosis (see link below) on the brain.....ie your brain is much more efficient than when running of glucose (ie alcohol) and bingo, that was it for me.....no turning back. https://lifeapps.io/nutrition/this-is-your-brain-on-ketones/ I really can’t recommend a Keto diet strongly enough wanting to lose weight and quitting alcohol (or even just quitting alcohol). (For anyone interested in the Keto diet watch ‘Fat Fiction’ on Amazon if you have it.)

Mate, you’ve taken a very brave step by admitting you have a problem. In AA terms you’ve just taken step 1 and for most alcoholics admitting that you are powerless over alcohol is the hardest step. I’m not necessarily advocating AA (as it can be very hit and miss) but give it a go. Most of the meetings are online at the moment due to lockdown so it really is a great way of seeing whether it’s something that may help. I have to say I’ve never met a bad person in AA.....in fact they are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. And that’s the terrible thing about booze.....and as Hitz says....normal, decent people become nobs when alcohol has become a problem for them. And I firmly include myself in that category. I’ve met alcoholics who have been heroin addicts too and they found heroin easier to quit than booze so don’t feel guilty about not finding it easy to quit. Also remember alcoholism feeds off guilt (feeling guilty at not being able to stop, or guilty at relapsing) too so be kind to yourself and really just take it an hour or day at a time. If you are doing a home detox, be careful and make sure your doc prescribes the right vitamins. Also, be careful about going cold turkey......it’s much safer to gradually reduce your alcohol intake over 5-7 days before finally stopping. Good luck fella
  24. You’re right though....it’s probably the only (and surprising) weakness of his game given his quality otherwise.
