Didn't he delete a post with some cryptic clue and a white circle in it suggesting he was going to a club that plays in white? Can't see Valencia being him but could be there....
  2. Key word that you missed there was if
  3. This is probably worth a revisit if its looks like Emery has him in his plans...
  4. That's what I expect, but it isn't what Mr faithful is saying
  5. Im sure they mentioned something about tidying up this as part of the revamping of the entrance tunnel. Or I assumed they would do something about them anyway.
  6. That contradicts previous info that your season ticket waiting list place remains as is. Interesting (assuming its not wrong which I wouldn't put past this account...) Also, they're blocked by me so thanks for highlighting their one useful post this month.
  7. I imagine the retrofitting of some insulation etc brings with it inherent inefficiencies that newer building materials don't have, but yes there is probably less impact overall. I doubt that's the deciding factor here though, will be to do with the issues around availability of the building materials and machinery at the moment that would otherwise delay us or make the cost impractical. Probably something to do with access to the North stand during construction also, which would be more tricky if Villa live was going up at the same time.
  8. Aston Villa, the club, is a collective. It should use "Aston Villa (the club) is delighted to announce Moussa Diaby...". Not sure i get the legal entity difference though. Isn't it just that we'd use unveil when we do it, and then unveils if someone else is talking about us having unveiled it? My brain hurts...

Agreed. I think he's got loads of potential, and I think a Championship loan gives him both the level of competitiveness he'll benefit from, and also help his transition from US football to English football. Its a learning curve. Looking at his (now deleted) tweet though, it does seem to suggest a plane was involved in any potential loan. Expect it will get announced soon if he hasn't made the US tour though

Hope the loan is to a Championship club, rather than a foreign club. He's got experience in a top flight foreign league that isn't comparable to the Championship already, so a lower foreign league isn't helping him. Going to one of the top foreign leagues like La Liga wouldn't be as valuable as going to the Championship I don't think. Get him used to England and his physicality should serve him well in that league too.
  11. Yup... https://www.avfc.co.uk/news/2023/july/19/villa-depart-for-usa/
  12. Whilst we're low on some senior numbers, I'm happy to see them youngsters they've picked to take with them. Interestingly no Duran?
  13. Nope, it was being knocked down to make space for parking that would otherwise have been lost to Villa Live. Agreed. The cube overshadowed the stand and never really looked "right". Warehouse looks like it belongs
  14. Dem must be contagious... Appreciate the effort to back me up, but I can't even remember what word that was meant to be . Possibly "around", but it's not even close!
  15. Anyone know anywhere that will confirm whether Diaby is at training today? Are they streaming it on YouTube again?
  16. I agree FFP isn't fair, but it does limit what they can do slightly. A free for all leaves Newcastle and Man City walking away with everything.
  17. I think these season tickets (as you rightly point out) don't entitle them to many of the same benefits of a season ticket holder (like access to away tickets). It also doesn't guarantee them the same seat next season. Its like a season ticket light, a different offering If you will. I think that they did withdraw some "season ticket non-renewals" from normal resale, so guess they are taking the place of some Waiting list people that otherwise would have been offered one of those seats. It's bad but it's not horrific I don't think.
  18. Just a feeling. Like the Pau news that floated around before the signing, there feels like there is genuine truth behind our interest in him and his in us. Which just means it's about agreeing with Leverkusen (in my opinion).
  19. Yeah, I think Diaby is ours of we will pay what Leverkusen want (I'm not sure Saudi bidding whether real or not impacts this as he wants to come to us seemingly). More generally speaking I'm concerned with how they're acting and how much they're willing to pay the likes of Henderson. It doesn't strike me as though they just want to have a decent league for their country to watch and be proud of.
  20. It's worth noting that the majority of the waiting list joined over 2 seasons ago when the prices were reasonable. It will be interesting to see how much further they can push it, as I imagine the tipping point for most existing ST holders will be similar to those on the waiting list, possibly even higher due to the connection they'll have with their seat. Maybe you get one season out of someone that's been on the waiting list for 5 years, as a treat, before they too realise the cost isn't sustainable. Atmosphere won't be helped by any of this.
  21. Us signing (or not) Diaby from Leverkusen is hardly ruining football. We'd probably happily sell them they're former best player back if they wanted to offer us less than we paid for him. Saudi on the other hand are definitely enabling certain clubs to circumvent FFP regulations, but seemingly not us. (So far...) FFP is arguably the cause of the problem there, although now that states own Newcastle and Man City FFP is somewhat preventing an ever worse situation.
  22. I'm not sure it would take all that much organisation anyway. Just a couple of agents that like to share their deals with anyone that will offer them more money. The second the scummy agents realise they can get more money flogging their players to a Saudi team they'll absolutely start sharing information with them. Then it just needs said billionaires to send an offer the agents way, before then sending an offer to said club from whichever of the 4 clubs they own.
  23. Diaby hasn't (yet) destroyed his hamstrings. And the market has moved on a huge amount since we signed Bailey. I feel like 50m is just the inflationary equivalent of what we signed Bailey for pretty much...and Diaby has nearly twice the number of assists as Bailey over the same time frame.
