  1. Really dreading this game. We all know the Villa modus operandi™. No doubt Chelsea's season starts now just as we set theses idiots on their way and kept ETH in a job for a while longer.
  2. ..... I was kidding. But in truth, I never 'enjoy' watching Villa. Unless, as against Sheffield United, we're 0-5 up with no chance of any kind of comeback.
  3. Fair play. I couldn't bring myself to clap personally, in fact over the WC I found myself audibly booing his name in the pub, which didn't endear me to the regulars.
  4. What argument? It's a pure guess, based on a handful of stories of a high profile footballer in the hyper-sensitive 24hr media churn, in which you've extrapolated an opinion. None of us have the first idea about Jack's private life.
  5. It isn't an 'educated guess' though mate is it, how could it possibly be? It's just a guess.
  6. Newcastle. Nailed on. Another 'Michael Owen' type signing, with probably the same kind of success.
  7. We said that about Manchester United.
  8. This is the crux of the interest for me. Take the polar opposite, admirable example of Philogene going to Hull for the sake of his long-term career trajectory and nothing else. Props to the kid and his advisors.
  9. Because I would find it interesting.
  10. Don't even think it's about regret. You know when you're heading out somewhere and witness a group of barely dressed young girls in heavy makeup meeting up with a group of mouthy lads in sportswear and baseball caps, and you paternally think, PLEASE don't go off anywhere with them, for your own sake, please don't think that's a good idea. It's sort of like that, only with insulting amounts of money and people in suits involved.
  11. Being mauled by Wolves at home today. Not sure this will help us on Weds.
  12. Just come on for Chelsea. Would really love a journalist to ask what he thinks of his career arc and the advice received so far.
  13. My last comment as I'm happy to disagree and be disagreed with, but telling people what they should or shouldn't care about is plainly ridiculous. I care deeply about Aston Villa (as I've no doubt you do) and I couldn't care any less about what the teams you mentioned above do with their branding.
  14. It isn't a race backwards. I absolutely do not understand how our founding year "doesn't mean anything of any importance", or how it could possibly be "just a year". Those statements aren't remotely true. I personally love to see a timestamp, and I hesitate to use the term, of big brands like Guinness, for example, sat in the logo. For me it brings a weight of heritage that elevates the brand beyond a mere drink, or football club, in our case. Even if the brand is relatively new, I like to see its stake in history when it was born. I don't see this information as trivial or unnecessary in any way, and graphically it can really work as a part of the whole story on offer. A universal truth: statements like "No one cares" tend to mean anecdotal "I personally don't care, and I recall my mate saying once he wasn't that fussed either".
  15. At the risk of bothering to take my interest further here, there's no way I'd like to see our founding year 'ditched'.
  16. It's fine. I would make changes. I no longer care.
  17. It's almost criminal how unutterably bad both Manchester United and Chelsea have been throughout the entire season, and yet, neither are that far away from the top 5. That's what happens when you can throw around billions without a care in the world. The teams below them haven't played badly by comparison, they simply don't have a multi-millionaire to stroll off the bench to score an undeserved goal or two in the latter stages of a game.
  18. Patience in the first 10 minutes of his return you mean, right?
