I don’t know how and why he gets away with it, these “jerknalists” (I hate that word ) frustrate the hell out of me. They should be punished for telling blatant lies and making stuff up. Any/many other professions allow that behaviour? Politics?

Because they are and have always been a shite, dull, turgid, scrappy little club that don’t know what attractive football is. They’ve always been way beneath us and not worth our breath or time. How was he ever supposed to thrive there? And he still got a decent amount of assists and goals. They couldn’t appreciate a quality footballer. FFS, they’re in love with the flipping Gardner brothers!!

Yep, Jacks gonna love playing in this side and really enjoy his football. Will be less pressure & reliance on him and he will have greater freedom to express himself. -
Isn’t it too soon to say Trezeguet is better than Jota??? We’ve barely seen him play... Jota has shown some genuine quality during preseason and was great at Brentford. Tore us a new areshole too. He was unfortunately stuck at a shite small-time club until we rescued him.

Encouraging but I don’t think it’s just about the coaching. We need to identify and bring in the right kids too... Is the guy we appointed from West Brom responsible for doing that?

Yeah I get it, everyone is so madly overpriced. If only our youth system/players were better... I don’t think Tammy is attainable and I actually prefer Wesley, he’s desperate to make an impact at Chelsea and may be given the opportunity. Maupay could be a great signing. I’d much rather take Benrahma if it’s a choice between the two (I realise he’s not a striker but an exciting and effective attacker).

Sorry mate, but I find I strongly disagree with almost every single one of your posts. Our youngsters are nowhere near good enough and have had plenty of time to make an impact. We have barely any options and are needing to make extra signings because of it. If they couldn’t break through at Championship level they won’t do it at PL level. Our youth system needs massive improvement & change. Suliman is nowhere near the “cusp of the first team”, RHM is obviously not good enough, Green will not be getting anywhere near the amount of game time he has had during preseason and should be loaned out asap for a full season - he and O’Hare are the ONLY ones I have hope for but they desperately need game & development time at a lower level.

Tammy would expect to be a starter, Maupay probably would too but he’d be an interesting signing. What I meant was, having Wesley as our main striker, we could do with a capable youngster who can come in as cover and make a difference from the bench. Not many goal scoring youngsters around or those that were once rated flatter to deceive, eg I remember Sam Gallagher being rated but he’s been fairly crap wherever he’s been away from So’ton. A young foreign kid would probably be a good option...

Hmmm...yeah but the reality is that we are still a newly promoted side and don’t have the same “pull” and won’t offer the crazy wages those clubs will. We do need another striker n I hope we can somehow get rid of Hogan. I expect Kodjia to get goals in our system. I actually think a “boss” of a goalkeeper is high priority though. Steer certainly has qualities but we need a commanding presence who will bring calmness and confidence into the side. And I’d prefer us to get a British-based keeper rather than a foreign option who will need time to adjust and could be a risk.

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Any decent youngsters about? Around 19-23? I can’t really think of any, someone who can score goals but still developing... can’t think of anyone good enough or exciting that would be available for a decent price. Would be great if we could get someone who could stay with us for a long time and eventually become our first choice striker. We need goal scorers, Davis is not really a striker (who scores goals) and RHM is nowhere near good enough.

No. Hause actually looked decent at LB, particularly good in one standout game during our run. Can’t recall the opposition. He really deserved a run of games over Taylor. He did well partnering Mings too at CB until he lost his place when Tuanzebe came back.
