Who could it be? No idea... Or maybe Evans was just spouting shit?

Very attacking, which I like, but potentially soft/weak defensively, especially in midfield. It depends on the opposition, but we could do with at least a strong CM who’s also good in the air & passes the ball well, that would help us in the tougher games and help ensure we aren’t overpowered or outmuscled, need some strength/physicality in there at times, options.

I agree. Tbh, the amount of time it is taking probably proves that we are trying hard to attract and sign a much higher calibre of player who will be more than worth it If we succeed in finalising the deal i.e. the harder the deal, the better the player. And, theoretically, the easier the deal (club wants to sell, keen to offload), the lower the quality of the player. It’s not always the case but I would say it is more often than not. Especially for a club such as us who aren’t such an obvious lure () atm, we need to sell our project and ambition to harder to attain targets, harder deals to complete.

I think it was fine mate, especially for a first episode. If you listen to other podcasts, particularly Villa related, they aren’t overly professional or high quality anyway plus a more casual or light hearted tone is often more appealing (I just listened to the latest Claret & Blue episode only to discover that Mat Kendrick has a nipple piercing!!!). You will only improve with time and practise, don’t think much criticism is warranted. Well done for getting this off the ground and hope you go from strength to strength.

It’s just blind nostalgia & sentiment... the worst kind of signings we could make in terms of where we want to go & what we want to achieve. Many need to realise that there are many more and much better players out there who could themselves become heroes/legends etc. Too much of a “go with what you know” mentality and blind hope that simply by returning to the club they will miraculously hit top form again. Signing ageing players and has-beens on high wages (they no longer warrant/deserve) has to be the worst “strategy” there can be... We’ve already been down that road and it ruined us. And yeah, I could’ve seen Edouard potentially being our “next Benteke”. Hopefully Ollie will do the business for us.

Just joking mate & thanks for the updates. Pretty sure it was regarding a player/signing (makes sense), I can’t recall the full comment etc. hoping someone could explain. We are trying to attract higher calibre players and one of the factors is getting to play with someone of Jack’s quality as well as our ambition & project. So... when’s Rashica signing?
