  1. Don’t see why anyone wouldn’t welcome and be excited about this signing… let’s see how he does before writing him off, having doubts, being sceptical etc… I hope he’s world class and makes us ten times stronger!! Ultimately, it only benefits us if our available players perform better than the ones that are missing… Wanting us to suffer or struggle due to those absences is… crazy… Especially if it’s just to prove a personal point… that’s poor. Go on Nico!
  2. No, not registered in time and carrying a knock. May be involved vs Hibs.
  3. Let’s not lower ourselves to petty arguments and disagreements… no need to insult any player, especially one who was heavily relied on and offered us a lot last season. I’m a fan of Buendia and was looking forward to him having a better season (that preseason performance against Newcastle was massively encouraging). It hurt and upset me to hear of and see both Emi and Ty’s injuries but I don’t want that to impact us too badly… I won’t waver in terms of my faith and belief in Unai!! Hope we bring in the right signings and develop our players enough to counteract the negative affects we have suffered and overcome them…
  4. Why would you want that? I’m a Buendia fan but… I don’t want us to miss any player or be affected too negatively. I’m glad the transfer window is still open and we can do something about these “knocks” or setbacks… I’d prefer us to address the deficiencies and do really, really well. I don’t want anything harming our chances of having a successful season. Don’t care at all about being proved right or wrong on points - just want the team I support to do as well as possible. Sod petty arguments.
  5. Have some faith… don’t be negative. I’m excited… I don’t think it’s hype, they both know what they’re talking about and it’s good to get that insight… His talent isn’t in question… it’s whether he can stay fit and injury free and how quick he can adapt and gel into the team… We’ve got to have faith and belief in any Unai or Unai-approved signing… I will repeat the mantra: If Unai got the players he inherited to perform so well, imagine what he can do with players of his own choosing (a la Moreno). Keep the faith, this is the Unai era… he is leagues beyond the vast majority of, if not all, previous managers - boy had we appointed so much shite… it’s embarrassing and was an obvious flaw of the clubs for so long… It’s time to stop basing current/future events on the past and comparing… these are different times under a different and far superior regime. We could easily have attracted a major talent, a major coup, here and exploited an advantageous situation…
  6. You and @allani have got me thinking he’s the perfect player!
  7. Different ways of looking at it… maybe this is a very simplistic one… if we waste funds on big fees and high wages for ineffective players… it hinders and harms our ability to bring in actual and many effective ones… harms our chances of success and progression… We don’t have unlimited funds and do have budgets to manage, according to our revenue streams… and FFP to unfortunately take into account and adhere to… We have to be intelligent and sensible… It’s why I find it nonsensical when people say things like “it’s not my money” It’s your club though!!! We should want it to be both sustainable and successful…

    Unai Emery

Yep… he knows his stuff and there is no messing… I’m often shocked at the realisation that we actually and finally have an expert, an elite coach and manager, in charge of the football club we adore.. We adore you too Unai…

    Unai Emery

So refreshing isn’t it? What a guy… You just know he’s gonna get it right and not look for stupid excuses or throw a hissy fit… honesty and hard work abound… An incredible manager with little to no ego… what a rarity…
  10. No probs… but I was forced to explain Mate, I don’t think too many have much of an agenda here. We just have differing opinions and disagree… some people get more upset and annoyed about that than others. A bit of chill helps and goes a long way. It doesn’t matter if we have opposing views… I’m sorry, but I can’t agree with your notion that people criticise Digne and Coutinho purely because of the manager that wanted them. We also signed Kamara and Carlos back then… Bouba is one of our best players and didn’t cost us a transfer fee. We need to be fair with the points we make… I just covered my opinions on Digne and Coutinho there for you. Anyway, enjoy the rest of your weekend and let’s thrash Everton!

    Unai Emery

I love this man Such a breath of fresh air and leagues beyond much of the dross we have appointed in the past. A man of principles and integrity. We are so lucky.
  12. We are not done… Unai has never suggested we are.. he and Monchi have said we want the best squad possible in/under the circumstances and will be active or monitoring things until the close of window…
  13. I don’t overly like them, I don’t dislike them. I think you’ve overreacted to a basic mention or point based on a viewpoint you’ve been maintaining… My only disdain or dislike was for SG… I hated his tenure… Guess you could take it as “tongue in cheek”… it was a joke in that selling Digne and Coutinho would help in erasing the memory of SG. Didn’t actually say anything derogatory or insulting about each player. As I’ve said before… some people take things far too seriously here and don’t consider a sense of humour… My opinions on the players are that they have tried to give good service… but have been poor value. Coutinho has been injured and unavailable too often, cannot handle the demands of the PL… he has skill and technique to offer but has been largely ineffective… of course, like most fans, I would like to see any player who joins/plays for us thrive… but you have to be realistic and form your own opinion based on past evidence (whether or not anyone agrees). Simply put, he has not been worth the financial outlay and never will he really… it would benefit the club to offload him and bring in a better option - at least imo. But I’d be happy and pleasantly surprised if he could “show” or offer something on a consistent basis if he hangs around. Digne… has given us decent service but never really impressed or wowed and has failed to live up to the hype/expectation and the considerable financial outlay. It’s easy to see that he is not a first choice or even a favoured player for Unai… we brought in Moreno who is far better suited and far superior. And now we are after Acuna… Huge wages (whatever the accurate number is, it’s definitely over 100k a week… anywhere between 120-165k depending on sources) and a big transfer fee for someone who has not really impressed or lived up to any sort of expectation. He hasn’t been shit though… So… there you go…. I have no hate for them… but… we can and will do better. As for SG… I don’t have a single positive word to say about him.
  14. I don’t think it’s a cesspool… there are plenty of decent and sensible people on there… It’s usually not the tool that is the problem but the “tools” that use it in the wrong way… I find that it’s the most convenient and easiest place to get news/info on stuff that I’m interested in too… even if I hate it’s “transformation” now… hoping for a good replacement/alternative… I actually think it’s a good idea to name and shame people too, can block them then too!
  15. Wow, quite an overreaction there matey… Where did I show or express disdain for Digne and Coutinho?????? Don’t dislike or insult either of them… but I do see them as expensive mistakes or a waste of funds… Please don’t throw me in this “agenda” or put words in my mouth
  16. SG is such a blemish on our club can we wipe him from our records and memories? Sending Digne and Coutinho on their ways will help out
  17. FFS do we really have so many clueless t*ssers in our fanbase or are they mostly just undercover Bluenoses???
  18. I might keep my mouth shut this weekend, after the debacle of our last game Just win.
  19. Don’t blame the club for SG and CP’s ineptitude… or even NSWE… they just put their trust in the wrong people, from a footballing perspective. Rectified now.
  20. Thanks again for your input, alway highly valued Maybe worth mentioning that Dybala is starting to approach the tail-end of his career whereas Felix still has time on his side but needs to sort himself out! Needs the right move and environment and to get his head straight and focussed.
