If we can use Ireland to get Enrique, and Young to get Walker, I think it would be a fantastic piece of business. We are going to lose Young regardless so we might as well use them as bait to get players we need in other areas of the pitch. Wouldnt mind seeing a back 4 of: Enrique-------Clark-------Cuellar--------Walker Next year. Defence is certainly the area that needs strengthening.

Id rather keep Young, but only the Young that played on the left. If Houllier is insistant on playing Young in the hole, he wouldnt be a great loss. I honestly think we could find better. Or possibly revert to a 4-4-2 if the proper striker is brought in alongside Bent.

Gotta disagree on that one. I want Houllier to stay. In fact, I want him to stay till the end of next year. But after that time he has to be showing improvement in results. If not, get rid. The last thing we want to do is end up where we were when MON left: Overpaid players playing outdated football and, as such, hit the glass ceiling of 6th. Agreed. Especially about the glass ceiling and the outdated football. Look at the way Barca played tonight. Ok, We will never be that good but thats the way football is played and I think Houllier is aiming for a similar style. Give Houllier time.

I think the game time will be good for him. With Delph/Makoun/NRC all fit now, i think Barry might struggle to get a lot of game time.

Needs a run of games now until the end of the season, then with a full pre-season in him, hopefully he will great for us next year alongside makoun.

Would love the above team to start one game together. Dont think its happened yet but hopefully with Delph now fully fit and Makoun coming back from his suspension, it can happen soon.

Houllier seems to do very well with contracts and transfer windows. Been very impressed with him on this front. Unfortunately its about the only front ive been impressed with! Delph will be a good player for villa though. Good news this.

Get him in Central midfield alongside NRC for the Bolton game.

General, Why do we keep hiring managers that give up on cup competitions? Ill still be there next season with my season ticket but I can understand people if they dont. Why do we just give up? Think you and Randy are doing a great job though and love having you at the club. I think its hard to sum up in words how dissapointed I was after last nights performance. To just give up like that? Football is a squad game, therefore even if players arent brilliant, they have a purpose. Unfortunately, under O'Neill, these type of players were being paid 50k a week. The idiot. I would definately get rid of the following in the summer: Petrov Heskey Beye Warnock Carew And a few of the youngsters if we can pick up 250k for each of them. Lichaj etc. I would love to see Bannan and Delph given a run of games now. I also really rate Clark, think the kid will become a class act.

MON signed Guzan....... I always did like that argument. Hutton wouldnt be bad, but it wouldnt surprise me if Houllier knows a right back abroad that we dont know about. Would love Walker but it aint gonna happen.

The last few weeks Downing has looked so much more comfortable on the right. He cuts in a little too much but he rarely loses the ball and is starting to run a lot more at players. I really like Downing. He lacks a little charisma in terms of imposing himself on games but the quality is there. He's fast as **** when he wants to be as well.

I actually think everyone saying it stinks of small time need a relaity check and need to lighten up a bit. Ok, I understand that we are better than blues, always have been, and probably always will be, but this does not take away from the passionate rivalry we have with them. I have to come to realise that football is full of rocket polishers, run by rocket polishers and controlled by money. This being said, Villa may not win a trophy for the next ten years or even compete at the highest level for a long time to come. The Rivalry we have in Birmingham with SHA is all we have at times and even in somewhat medicore seasons our games against them always provoke the most passionate and exhiliarting moments. Yes it may have brought us down to their level but this rivalry is all I have to look forward to at times. I hate them and always will do but I love the rivalry. The banner for me was funny. It brought a smile to most of the ground.

I would have bloody loved Pires to have played Clark in when he had that shot in the first half. Clark brought it out of defence and could have finished the move off himself. It would have been one hell of a goal that.

I agree with you I also agree. NRC is doing ok in there aswell though.

Clark probably will turn out to be a good centre back yes. He is very good on the ball as people are making out but being a CH is all about putting your body on the line, winning headers and last ditch tackles. Whilst Clark may be cool in possession and more of a footballer than our other centre halves, I still think he needs to learn the defensive side of the game more. Hopefully this will come though and with a lot of work in the Gym over the summer this lad could become a class act. Thought he was very good at Blackpool and looked so calm with possesion.

Will he back for Blackburn do we think? What a massive game that is btw. Would love to see him and NRC in the middle.
