  1. "We've worked meticulously on the shape and organisation" - finally a proper manager!
  2. There were so many positives in today's match, but must say that Gardner was anonymous. I really want him to kick on and have an impact on the games. Bruce should demand a minimum of three pile driver shots from him each game.
  3. I slightly blame him for the goal as he let Murray run through. Otherwise this is exactly what I expected from Jedi. Just love watching him making our defensive half his own, winning headers, breaking up their play and organizing our team. More of the same please! As he is so dominant in this position I think we could afford having Grealish in a mid three.
  4. Are we free to fill in here I'd say "fit", "motivated" or "hungry".
  5. I disagree, when Ayew came on we started to get hold of the ball much more and started pressing them. Ayew (and Grealish) had a large part in this, he always wanted the ball, kept it, ran at the opposition, you could see how they backed off and had respect for him when he had the ball. He also had a couple of shots that were blocked and a couple of good passes and corners. I was about to come on here just to say that he did more in his first 5 mins than Gabby did during the whole game. Don't get me wrong, I was very pleased with Gabbys attitude and he did what Gabby does, that is headless running and not much constructive contributing. Completely different to Ayew who is a football player who can control the ball, run at the opposition with the ball and actually does pass it now and then. Gabby is good as a touch and go runner who now and then manages to fumble the ball in the net or sometimes score with quite good shots, but he is not contributing in build up play, gaining possession and creating chances. Having Ayew, Grealish, Adomah and Kodjia on the pitch is really exciting!
  6. Disappointed not to get 3 points, but very encouraged by the performance. Nice to see that we pressed and looked like the team most likley to score in the second half. When Ayew and Grealish came on we really showed our class! Between the 70th and 85th minute was as good as I have seen us play since I don't know when, Kodjia very unlucky not to score, did he hit the bar twice with headers? Loved to see Grealish play in the middle three, hope he continues to play there. Glad to see Baker score his first goal and I'm also starting to fall in love with Chester!
  7. Don't think I've ever seen the Tony thread this far down the list - need to bump it!
  8. Fair enough, I just feel that Oasis are more connected to Man C than just a singer in a band supporting a random team (Oasis songs being played as anthems at the games, Oasis inspired Man C t-shirts on sale, Oasis gigs at the stadium etc). It felt like being at Maine Road when I heard it being played at Villa Park...
  9. I know the Dr tweeted something about this, but I don't understand why we play a Man C song at Villa Park?
  10. I'd break the bank or sell off the whole stock of Lotus Health Group's glutamine to get Will Hughes from Derby.
  11. Not sure what a wankfest is, but if it's a party to praise GG after all the unfair critisism he's got - I'm all in, all night!
  12. Managed the right way, I think Westwood could become a future England captain.
  13. One thing that struck me was that it seems as if every new manager who has come to the club the last years has not rated Westwood at the beginning, but then somehow he has ended up as a first team regular, at least this is what I remember from the first time under Sherwood and Garde...
  14. I think he passes the ball sideways too often
  15. That legal crap was so boring to read, I'll just trust my lawyer on this
  16. Just one second here... in the game yesterday, did we actually have a game plan, a team set up with the players who could carry out that game plan, and then changed the tactics during the course of the game to end up on the front foot and winning the game?
  17. Very pleased with having Bruce almighty as our manager, and very curious to see the first line up!
  18. Westwood and defence is a bit of a contradiction isn't it
  19. Not even on the bench today? Seemed like we played better with GG in the middle.
  20. This is my current 5 p on Dr Tony. At first I was sceptical, partly because I didn't know anything about him and partly because of a general prejudice that it's difficult to get filthy rich completely legit. It was also difficult to get reliable information about him. So far, the Dr has proven to me that my initial scepticism was fully unfounded. I couldn't be more happy with what he has done in this short time. He has spent more money on the team that I could have dreamt of and he seems to have started building up a good structure at the club, especially with the appointment of Wyness. I think the efficiency in the summer acquisitions is a sign that the structure is working. Dr Tony has shown unprecedented enthusiasm and openness and he has for sure issued the problem with lack of communication. The small side steps that I think he has taken, like some of his tweets, I think he has played down and handled fairly well. Overall I think he comes across as a very good and humane person. At the end of the day, it could have been much much worse, and at the moment I'm very glad and proud to have Dr Tony as our owner.
  21. Please not 3 at the back, please not 3 at the back, please not three at the back. Please let McScoremack play, please let McScoremack play, please let McScoremack play.
