  1. Would they have any history of trouble with their national team supporters?
  2. Rangers fans you mean. On another note the Welsh seem to be a great bunch of lads.
  3. Russia won the anthems despite being outnumbered. Great atmosphere, even if it is negative.
  4. Keeping Ayew would be massive, Gestede while a useful option to have I wouldn't be too unhappy to see him leave. Would rather a big man with a good touch.
  5. Hopefully the club has a bit more vision and ambition than signing the likes of Dwight Gayle. Not much more than a goalscorer, unfortunately for him the only league he has scored heavily in was the Conference North. The Dubai trip alone should rule him out by right. I'd rather someone hungrier with greater potential.
  6. He was at Parma between 96 and 99. They were super fit. We should aim for Leicester's level of fitness with this Italian sport science expertise. With honourable managers like Guardiola, Conte, Stam and more than likely Frank De Boer joining English teams this year then expect fitness levels to rise.
  7. What Roy Keane said about O'Dowda “He’s a confident lad, he has had a good season at club level and it was good to get him on last night because it’s good to work with young players who have not been brainwashed yet.” http://www.the42.ie/callum-odowda-ireland-debut-roy-keane-2800069-Jun2016/
  8. If they pull that off then we know for sure that Tony Xia is the real deal.
  9. I seen him play the two FA cup games against Spurs and I didn't get the hype. Maybe if he develops physically he could be a top player as does look tidy on the ball.
  10. I liked Gil, the goal against Bournemouth got our hopes up when he signed. He was unlucky with his timing when coming here and although he is no world beater he is a bit better than what he produced here. He should be able to rebuild his career and become a solid mid-table La Liga player.
  11. Ricky Lambert would be terrible, although he has decent technique he has no mobility. Imagine a situation where the only strikers available are Gestede and Lambert. Keeping Ayew would be massive, Gana would be nice to keep but easier to replace than Ayew if he was to leave. The 4 most important players to remove are Lescott, Richards, Agbonlahor and Guzan. Richardson and N'zogbia are out of contract while the likes of Kozak and Cissokho should be able to get clubs somewhere in Europe. That should leave the squad a little leaner and allow some quality and good characters be introduced.
  12. Oh it would be madness for Green to leave but it is not uncommon for prospects in his position to be signed up and warehoused by the likes of Chelsea, Man City etc. Ideally you would hope that 2 of Grealish, Adama and Gil are kept while Sinclair and Bacuna(sometimes a winger) are moved on. In that scenario there would be need for only one signing in that area with Green and possibly Robinson providing cover. Callum O'Dowda would be a good value for money addition freeing up money to spend on more important areas like the keeper, defence, central midfield and possibly up front if Ayew leaves.
  13. The main priority for a central midfielder is to sign someone with a good physical presence and engine. I assume Sanchez will leave and he lacked an engine, the others like Westwood, Gana and Veretout are not really physical players. Someone in the Kouyate/N'Zonzi mould ideally should be the number 1 priority. Tom Carroll is more of the same.
  14. O'Dowda could potentially be a great bit of business especially if one or two of Grealish, Adama Traore, Gil or Andre Green leave. Even if none of them leave he would still be a good option to have. RDM generally plays a 4-2-3-1 which would suit.
  15. Russell King's Notts County scam was quite ridiculous too. Sven, Sol Campbell and Kasper Schmeichel all ended up going there.
  16. The Scottish cup final for me has to go down as one of the great matches/occasions that make being a fan of football worthwhile. I've always had a soft spot for Hibs and would have had huge empathy for their plight in cup finals up until now. Although the defending in the game was abysmal it was still a cracking game of football with the right result at the end of it. The pitch invasion would have been grand if not for a few idiots and the rendition of Sunshine on Leith was special (a far better football anthem than YNWA and can't be picked up by every second mickey mouse club). I'm still in a good mood after it and I'm usually very miserable.
  17. The proposed move to Kirkby was controversial but I wouldn't hold that against him as Goodison is holding them back. The Everton fans weren't happy at the sale of assets, outsourcing of revenue streams and number of loans taken out against future income. Of course Everton were in a bad way financially before he came in there but he put short term cash flow ahead of long term benefits. He has had his fingers in plenty of pies down through the years without doing anything horrendous so hopefully things work out ok. Better to have someone slightly dodgy and capable than the likes of Faulkner.
  18. It was one of the good things Tom Fox did in not going for gambling money.
  19. The more I read about Wyness the more worried I become. Initially I thought he would make a great CEO but neither Everton nor Aberdeen fans have much positive to say about him.
  20. The style of football won't be bad considering what Villa fans have had to watch the past 5 years. Everton generally played progressive football but when they had Cahill and Fellaini in the box they used them. Attacking full backs became more prevalent when Baines and Coleman emerged too. He made full use of technically gifted players like Arteta, Pienaar, Osman and even Graveson played some great stuff back in the day earning a move to Real Madrid. At United Cleverley's sideways passing was his downfall.
  21. Barry would need legs beside him at this stage though. He has had that at Everton with McCarthy. Westwood would not provide that, Gana might be a good partner if he stays otherwise the scouting network will need to be worked to find someone.
  22. I'm a big fan, at Championship level with a little bit more time on the ball he would boss the division.
  23. Well past his best, not as nippy as he used to be which just means he is a tidy player who will fail to penetrate defences. I'd rather keep Gil and try develop Grealish/Green.
  24. I'd have the same reservations, a good start would be absolutely crucial for him.
  25. If Moyes is manager then Gibson on a free transfer is a big possibility.
