Exactly this! I've had my opinions on DS and some of them maybe harsh, however how is giving him Jota, Trez and AEG as wingers supporting him? Cahill comes in as experience and a leader something we have clearly lacked all season. I thought Engels was ok at the start but something is amiss there, Konsa is maybe for the future but we couldn't afford to buy for the future we needed to buy, loan in or whatever for this season. We were ridiculously stubborn on loans and I hope if we go down our ideals and those who made them are heavily scrutinised.

Maybe, but as I said in an earlier post, if we didn't buy 3 of these type of players we could've bought 1 player that might've actually made a difference to this squad. I know we had to get bodies in because of our depleted squad but I see this year's recruitment as a failure. Didn't we at some point basically say we were not going to loan any players because we don't roll like that. Well that idea looks pretty silly now. Should've loaned in a couple of players and bought someone of better quality.

Yeah I didn't mean that RS should've been a target of ours, but like for like for the amount spent..... Nearly 9 mill for Trez, just get sick of my club having their pants pulled down

Totally agree, is Andre Green that much worse than Trez for example. There have been a few of our players that have decent careers that were never given a look in here....

Well Im happy, Ive had few bets going on Liverpool since before the season started. Also may help us in our game against them now.

It is very sad how few academy players have ever made it in our first team on a regular basis..... and considering how shite we have been for a decade, does this not mean our academy program is even shiter?

I would've had Snoddy in a heartbeat, proved in his time here that he is willing to put in a shift! Plus he has more talent in his big right toe than Trez has in his entire body....

Trying to be optimistic, we will go down with less problems than last time plus there is no FFP so we can run amok and by all the players, every single one of them.

I think you might be going a bit far, in the championship he'd get away with some of his dodgy touches, probably be a similar player to Uncle Albert. He was good for us at that level.

Problem is mate, we've bought a lot of junk for around that price. 3 crappy players probably equals one that might've improved us. I want to like Trez, I really do but he a dog's breakfast. If we go down he stays, if we stay up he should never start a game, or better yet get loaned out.

Ah that is a statement that I can agree with, I'm not saying that it's not hasty to call for his head. Surely though you have to understand people's emotions. I myself would rather stick with Smith than make a rushed change just for the sake of it. I do feel he is letting himself and us down though.

Every bit of that goal is on Smith, he sat back and watched the other team make changes and did nothing. We have been outclassed this whole 2nd half and he has done nothing, we have been defensively pathetic all season and hes has done nothing............
