  1. Unfortunately this has been happening regularly and means very little. The Ukrainian side of the river bank is heavily built up and offers some really good firing positions. It's also perfect for HIMARS to fire from hidden positions and then move back. The Russian side of the river bank isn't built up and is hard to defend. Ukrainians have been going across the river for a few months and setting up small positions. It's another headache for Russia. To clear the Ukrainians they would need to commit troops and equipment into a very vulnerable area. But its not hugely significant.
  2. Or the support group for people who are obsessed with self care for minor skin complaints.............Just Pop Boils
  3. Russian Ministry of Defence said:! On the evening of April 20, during the flight of a Su-34 VKS aircraft over Belgorod, an abnormal descent of aviation ammunition occurred." An abnormal descent of aviation ammunition
  4. Our entire army is less than 100,000 strong. That would barely be enough to take a major Russian city.
  5. Have a look at Tudor watches. It's the sister brand of Rolex. There is nothing that directly copies the Milguass. But there's plenty of choice and they are actually available. Rolex have just discontinued the Milguass. The chances of getting one from an authorised dealer is almost zero.
  6. The Ukrainian Deputy Defence Minister confirmed that the counter attack has begun. But she also said that there will be no significant news at the moment. Russian defenses are being tested for weaknesses and other actions taken. Russian sources are reporting that Ukraine is creating safe channels through its own minefields in the South East. They are also reporting that the best of the western artillery is massing North of Melitopol. Russia has evacuated all civilians from that area. Everything is bluff and double bluff at the moment.
  7. I stumbled across this watch today. (First image). It’s inspired by the watch given to RAF pilots in WW2. (Second image). Its dial, hands and wonder are made out of actual parts from a WW2 Spitfire.
  8. NATO has nothing to gain from targeting Putin. Under his leadership the Russian armed forces have been degraded to such an extent that they will not be a threat to NATO for a decade. But Putin would not be targeted because Russia could retaliate by taking out Biden. The US notified Russia of Biden's visit. Russia say they "allowed" him to visit. In reality, Russia would have done everything possible to avoid harming Biden. I would not be surprised if Russia did the same.
  9. Driving home with Mrs Lifeboats- Mrs L : “Your car says its 18 degrees. It doesn’t feel that warm.” Me : “My car says it’s exactly 6pm.”
  10. These are old chestnuts. The Welsh were allowed into the city during the day for trade. The city guard could shoot an unidentified person trying to break into the city walls during darkness. Those 2 things have been merged into one "law".
  11. My opinion is based upon his recent opinions. He supported the war with Georgia and the annexation of their land. He has not moved from that standpoint. He opposed the military occupation of Crimea in 2014. But also said that it was Russian should remain Russian. He opposes the arming of Ukraine by the West due to the Russian deaths it will cause. No mention of the Ukrainian deaths caused by Russia. He was recently asked, if he became president would he give Crimea back to Ukraine? He avoided the question by saying that it shouldn’t be passed backwards and forwards. His opposition of Putin is based upon the level of corruption and criminality in the Russian Government. I have yet to read anything that suggests his policies would be substantially different.
  12. Best done in autumn on maximum setting or in spring on a lighter setting before you sow lawn seed. Mine cost about £100 from Argos.
  13. Buy/hire an electric lawn rake/scarifier. This will remove all the dead grass and rough up the soil beneath to receive the seeds. They are worth every penny.
  14. Last week Russia auctioned 10 year bonds guaranteed to rise above inflation by 2%. Number sold? Absolutely zero.
  15. Hitler saw the benefit of the EU. He wanted a united Europe with a common currency, common language and a common set of laws. He just didn't want all that complicated democracy, negotiation and diplomacy.
  16. Paul O'Grady's cause of death has been confirmed as ___________ You can ask 3 star guests from the panel to help you fill in the blank.
  17. I see no problem with a 10 year age difference. But for a 22 year old that is a massive difference. She may be interested but a little worried by the age difference. I echo the other posts on here. Ask her out for a serious date. If she declines you treat her as a work colleague from then on. You might even find the lack of attention makes her more interested.
  18. This one needs a bit of explaining. Russia set up hundreds of fake Twitter accounts claiming to be normal Finns who did not want to join NATO. But they didn’t realise that they had confused the word save (to rescue) with save (to download). This led to thousands of tweets saying things like “NATO can not download Finland” and “Finland needs to be downloaded from the Nazis.” The Finish Armed Forces now have a patch showing that Finland has been downloaded onto a NATO disk.
  19. Have you tried turning his life support off and then on again?
  20. The RAF ensuring Russia does not interfere with our spy planes.
  21. Such as? I have been through this. As you get older you do tend to leave things behind. It sometimes needs a concerted effort to add new things to replace them.
