  1. Human Rights Act. Everyone has the right to privacy unless it's necessary to remove that right. If the Police believe she is in the water there is no reason to discuss any vulnerabilities in detail.
  2. If my body is found in a remote location it is reasonable for the Police to state it was suicide or that "no other person was involved". It might even be reasonable to state I was depressed. If I go missing It's not reasonable to disclose my private life unless it will help ensure my safety. If I am a criminal and wanted for a crime its reasonable to disclose anything that leads to my apprehension. This could include my alcoholism, depression, description, areas I frequent, state of mind etc. There is no indication that she is a criminal. Nor do I see any reason why knowing she is menopausal and alcoholic will help ensure her safety. It could do the opposite.
  3. The Policce are being criticised for concluding that she fell into the river without any indication that she did. That's unlikely for a perfectly healthy person, especially when the dog was dry. People are asking how they have formulated this opinion. By mentioning the drinking they are hinting that there was another factor.
  4. Morally - yes. She didn't get the help she needed. Legally - no.
  5. I honestly think it's a panic move to give credibility to the theory that she fell n the river. It serves no purpose.
  6. Famous trivia question. The actor Peter Falk only had one eye. But did the character Columbo have one eye?
  7. Why have the Police chosen to release information regarding her problems with alcohol? If she has a problem it's not going to help that it's now public knowledge. Nor would it help find her. She is not a criminal. She is either missing or a victim. Disclosing this information is inexcusable. Its an egregious breach of privacy that is completely unjustified. Data Protection and Human Rights only apply to the living. By making this statement it makes me think that the Police are confident that she's dead.
  8. Why is no-one else talking about this? The dog is called "Atilla". He is a rare breed - A Burmese Assisted Suicide Spaniel. He gave a no comment interview to the Police. Local squirrels say that he has killed before.
  9. Personnel costs are down. That's been the trend for years. Better equipment with fewer people. But the graph is really simple. When adjusted for inflation the latest spend available isn't anything special. There was a peak in the early 80s when we had to replace the equipment and ammunition expended in the Falklands. I am not defending this government, their policies or their spending. In my opinion our folly was paying for 2 aircraft carriers. We need 2 carriers like a fish needs a bicycle.
  10. NATO has spent about 5% of its peacetime budget to support Ukraine. That 5% has ruined Russian armed forces and put them in a position where they will not be a major military power for the next 10 -15 years. Many people think Russia has lost 50% of its ability to wage war. That's money well spent in my opinion.
  11. Here you go. "Uk Defence Expenditure" https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/defence-departmental-resources-2022/mod-departmental-resources-2022#defence-expenditure-outturn-over-time Figure 3 is the key graph. Adjusted for inflation our defence spending isn't particularly high.
  12. This graph is a little confusing but sum up Russia's economic problems. The grey area is the highest and lowest Russian oil has been in recent times for every month of the year. 2022 saw the price steadily fall. 2023 has started worse than 2022. Those figures aren't disastrous (yet) but it shows a clear picture. Russia has lost its affluent customers and is now struggling to sell its oil without massive discounts. That's at a time when it needs huge amounts of money to build gas and oil infrastructure to serve its new customer, rebuild its military and replace the skilled workers who are dead, disabled or have disappeared abroad.
  13. I honestly don't think this was the plan. Russia had no plans for a real fight. They thought Ukraine would capitulate immediately. They also thought that the West would accept the situation due to reliance upon Russian Gas. When that failed, there was no plan B. So they just did what history told them wou,d work. Bombard, show no mercy and force an end to the conflict by treaty that naturally would be in their favour. When that failed......er.......well..........um........let's carry on with the bombardment. That is why it's been such a disaster for Russia.
  14. Wagner aren’t strictly conscripts. But many are volunteers from prison. Their contract is that they get freedom after serving for a period of time. Russia isn’t overly keen to have these murderers and rapists back in civilian society.
  15. Russian loses remain exceptionally high and there is a perception that it’s cannon fodder from the prisons. But Russia sources are openly admitting that its 155th Naval Infantry Brigade has been virtually wiped out. These aren’t badly trained and equipped conscripts. These are a Brigade of professional Marines with very decent equipment. They have taken 2 heavy beatings in the past 12 months. But the latest one seems to have degraded it to a point of no return. There are massive arguments on Russian Social Media regarding who is responsible. It’s amusing to see. The Russians need scape goats to blame for their defeats. They still haven’t grasped the reality of the situation.
  16. If they find Nicola Bulley in the wreckage we may mave to merge 2 topics.
  17. Most Russians have accepted this and its being openly spoken about in Russian media. But they have now moved the goalposts. They may have failed to beat Ukraine but they are steadily pushing all of NATO back to the West. There really is a perception that they are fighting NATO rather than a force armed with NATO weapons. Whenever a westerner serving with Ukraine is killed the Russians portray it as proof that they are fighting NATO.
  18. Sorry, I didn't make myself clear. Russia haven't found other countries who are willing to buy gas and oil at prices high enough that replace the revenue from the West. Russia is selling plenty of gas and oil but at well below normal prices.
  19. Russia are making small gains but suffering massive loses to men and equipment. Everyone is waiting for Russia's big offensive. If that's yet to come then Ukraine can expect to take more loses. If the recent push is the big offensive then its been such a disaster that no-one has realised its the big offensive. Bakhmut is slowly being surrounded and it will fall at some point. I would imagine that Russia want to take it by the first anniversary. Ukraine will want to hold it for same reason. The Russian economy is starting to decline noticeably. They no longer have the ability to artificially support the economy with reserves. Tax Revenue from businesses is falling whilst spending is rocketing. Russia simply hasn't replaced the revenue from selling gas and oil to the West. Most wars tend to be an ebb and flow. Russia is winning if you think the cost they are paying is reasonable. Western tanks will be hitting the battlefield in a few months. Russia's ability to repel them is growing less every day.
  20. He had a thing about the test card. He would record tge music from the test card and play it as he walked around. A cowboy obsessed with the test card, Ezra the crazed god botherer and a Polish Nazi living in a tent on the ring road. You can see why I left!!!!!
  21. I have just added a link above. I knew Ezra. Another character. He had something like 20 kids.
  22. No. But I suspect you are referring to the local loon who did exactly that. Absolutely true. He was a classic. "The Wolverhampton Cowboy" https://www.logosapostolic.org/testimony/CowboyDavidCox.htm
  23. I think your imagination is running away with you. The wise men were bearing gifts not wearing gifts. If they were the wise man bringing gold would look like Mr T. I remember being a cowboy in our school nativity. But that's because I was schooled in Wolverhampton and we could never find 3 wise men or a virgin. 50 years later, I still have no idea what myrh is and I have never come across it in the real world. Although I do have to put on a dressing gown, put a tea towel on my head and pretend to be a shepherd in order to reach orgasm. Nothing weird at all.
  24. Nor was there a census in Bethlehem around that time. Nor did any census require people to return to their place of birth. I wasn't really aiming for historical accuracy.
  25. 25/12/0000, Bethlehem, dressed as a dominatrix , bringing gifts of anal lube and nipple tassles. That should make infant nativity plays far more entertaining.
