  1. I've been the eternal optimist since joining these boards, but if we don't win this one even I think we're screwed. Happy new year from the US to all Villa fans. Let's hope 2016 is our year. UP THE VILLA
  2. Doug Ellis, Victoria Beckham and Stevie Wonder would be an upgrade over Richardson. (Nuff said) Bacuna has done okay, just a pity he can't cross with his left peg. I guess we allowed Cissokho to go on loan to save wages?
  3. I'd say a left back who's actually left footed would be handy as well.
  4. Lol. How many times did John Gregory try to sign that guy?
  5. I agree. Amavi is the one guy who can stick a decent cross in from open play. Him getting injured really sucked.
  6. I'm in agreement. Let's just get behind Garde. Changing the manger every 20 minutes only works for teams that have huge deep pockets and can buy instant success.
  7. This is exactly the problem. Forgetting Garde for a moment, I still scratch my head as to what the intention was over the summer when you put our squad together. Had a distinct "lets wing it feel" and we are now paying the price.
  8. It didn't rain last Thursday. Definitely Hutton's fault.................
  9. I know others will disagree, but I thought today was the best I've seen him in over a year. Tried to get stuck in, had a couple of pops on goal and sprayed the ball around a bit.
  10. Has done much better than I expected in the LB role. It's just a crying shame he has to cut back onto his right to get a cross in. Can't fault his efforts or endeavour though, had a really good game today.
  11. The other thing I'd add since Garde took over (other than the Everton game) is that even after going behind the guys still give it a go and you don't see many dropped heads. The "here we go again" mentality seems to not be an issue for the players so much anymore. If only we could get some of that onto Villa message boards.......
  12. Not sure what Garde could have done differently today? We were solid enough at the back and had enough going forward to cause west ham a crap ton of problems. It was also obvious the lads were all up for it, which you could tell because I haven't heard Villa park that loud since "Fabian Delph what a rocket polisher, what a rocket polisher" Some of the absurd Garde is crap comments are really getting irritating.
  13. I thought today was his best game. Made some solid blocks and tackles, slipped Hutton through a few times with some lovely balls and didn't make any suicide passes that I can recall. Good stuff!
  14. Thought the lads worked their nuts off and tried until the end. We dominated that game for huge periods. It's a pity we are already pretty boned, because I'd say with another 5 games on top of what we have left, I'd say we'd be OK if we continue to perform like that. It's the same problem most teams have, the ever elusive put the ball in the net guy.
  15. Veretout is shagged......Time for a change and one final push.
  16. Slightly off topic, but Jesus did anyone see Oscar's penalty?
  17. According to my stats page here on NBC we've had 9 shots on target....
  18. Everything but the girl so far. Too much foreplay lads, time to do the business.
  19. I don't even remember the last time we created this many chances. Not exactly sitters, but jesus.....
