There an awful lot of gay in here today.
  3. GK: Guzan, Bunn (2) RB: Hutton, Bacuna, Crespo (3) LB: Amavi, Bennett, Richardson (3-1=2 because Amavi is officially under 21) CB: Okore, Clark, Richards, Senderos, New Guy That's Been Hinted At (5) MC: Westwood, Sanchez, Gueye, Gardner, Veretout (5) AM: Sinclair, Grealish, Ayew, N'Zogbia, Cole (5-1=4 because Grealish is under 21) ST: Adebayor, Agbonlahor, Kozak, Gestede (4) Makes a squad of 25, assuming we say goodbye to Cissokho, and Baker. Obviously if we sold e.g. N'Zogbia we could keep e.g. Cissokho. Home-grown: Bunn, Bennett, Richardson, Clark, Richards, Westwood, Gardner, Cole, Sinclair, N'Zogbia, Agbonlahor. That's eleven, we need at least eight. Obvious weak link here is depth in centre half. Wonder who Timmy has lined up there. Edit: thanks, VILLAMARV!
  4. He's always been a bit of an pissant.

Seems to be included in pre-season stuff: https://instagram.com/p/5iN6-KlHFh/?taken-by=joebennett27
  6. 1. Looking at quality across the pitch now. Great window. 2. Need one more CB imho. 3. We're a little bit stuck if Guzan gets a long-term injury.
  7. It's handy that they have a linesman there as well.
  8. Photoshopped. The shoes don't match.
  9. Im sure I read Benteke only scored in 7 league games last season I heard it was only 3.
  10. If he is on that 9pm flight, it's a busy plane. Today it's been Amsterdam to Paris, Paris to Amsterdam, Amsterdam to Hamburg, Hamburg to Amsterdam, Amsterdam to Berlin, Berlin to Amsterdam, Amsterdam to Birmingham. Roma were stalling around Chicago the time Villa played a friendly there. Walking around in their tracksuits like they were the U-15s. Millionaire U-15s, mind.
  11. First three of them will be codeshares, I'd say. Doubt he's flying Flybe.
  12. Bit like Sunday league football only a day later. It's six days earlier you tosspot.
  13. The puns are a load of bull, just not very amoosing.
  14. Delighted for Kojak. Well done, you beautifully awkward lanky prince.
  15. Off the top of my head we have Bunn, steer, baker, Bennett, Clark, Hutton, Richards, Richardson, Cole, Sinclair, Westwood and Gabby We need 8 homegrown players in our 25 man squad N'Zogbia and Senderos also count. So we could sell/omit from the final squad Steer, Baker, Bennett, Richardson, N'Zogbia and Senderos and still be alright.
  16. Quality thread. Congrats all round.
  17. I think we've learnt our lesson about giving 30+ year olds huge wages on long contracts. I hope we've learnt our lesson about giving 30+ year olds huge wages on long contracts. Please tell me we've learnt our lesson about giving 30+ year olds huge wages on long contracts?! I get the impression that Tom Fox is better at this than Paul Faulkner.
  18. I understand his point, and I disagree with it. In 2000 we were signing the likes of Olof Mellberg. In 2010 we weren't making comparable signings. Trent says this makes N'Zogbia a worse signing comparatively. But by this reasoning N'Zogbia would have been alright had he been bought two years earlier under O'Neill even if he'd cost the exact same amount of money and put in exactly the same performances. Just because we were also wasting money on the likes of Beye. That's madness. My argument is to compare what Bosko cost us to what N'Zogbia cost us, and see who gave us more. We can disagree on these points, that's the point of football forums. But for someone to come along and dismissively think these two arguments "have no relation"? Right so, good man
  19. Madness. In consumer price inflation terms, £5m then would equal £8m today. In football inflation terms, it'd be more than that. Comparable fee, all things considered. That reply has no relation to my post. Baffling response. You were comparing N'Zogbia and Balaban to other players we bought at the time, I compared it to actual numbers, basically under the logic that how good/bad a signing N'Zogbia was isn't affected by what we were paying for Jordan Bowery. I've no idea how you can claim there's no relationship there.
  20. Madness. In consumer price inflation terms, £5m then would equal £8m today. In football inflation terms, it'd be more than that. Comparable fee, all things considered. N'Zogbia is a poor player, no question. I'd love to see him gone. But there's a reason he's played 50 times for us and Balaban only played 5 or 10 times for us. It's because Balaban was way, way, way out of his league. N'Zogbia has been poor, better suited to the Championship, but not a million miles out of his league.
  21. Well you simply do not name them in the 25 man squad If that doesn't send out the message to **** off i don't know what will This is Randy Lerner we're talking about. Do you see him sanctioning transfers that would leave us with too many players? Plus, we tried that once before. Even made them train with the kids. Didn't work. Doubt Randy will let that happen again.
