  1. The window was v different this year for everyone with all of the financial rules looking large. However, I think we saw a step change at Villa: in how we approach the winter windows and how we're developing as a club. - Solidifying the core group of 15 or 16 first team players: Emery likes a close-knit squad (might be our downfall) and getting through another window as part of his plans will galvanise the team (an opportunity to boost player confidence rather than rattle their cages by replacing them midway through a season) - Removing players who are earning too much and contributing little - Bringing in youngsters who can take squad places who might have a higher ceiling but who certainly have lower wage demands - Bringing in players who are on the margin between the youth team and the senior team, with one eye on resale value and another on adding to the first team (hence the return of KKH) - Loaning out youngsters to teams at all levels I assume we're identifying players who can be brought in during the summer (perhaps on frees with one or two larger fee signings) to increase the stands of the first team.
  2. The amount of hair touching at the start...
  3. Welcome, Joe, to the best club on the planet
  4. He’s waiting for a PL club and he won’t get one
  5. Genius from SkySports this: things go well or…wait for it…they don’t. 'Broja move could go one of two ways' Sky Sports News' Paul Gilmour at Chelsea's Stamford Bridge: "This move gives Broja the opportunity to play, so from a Chelsea perspective his contract runs until 2028 which is a fairly lengthy one for a player who has come through the academy. "This could go two ways - he could score a lot of goals, he could impress so much he really kicks on and Chelsea think he is for us, or it could go the other way and it helps with his valuation - and if he did get sold on, as an academy product it's good profit for Chelsea, and could help them with PSR.
  6. One for the future, clearly talented, from the local area, and a big reduction in wages when compared to Bertie. Makes all the sense in the world.
  7. Seems like the sort of man who would want to play, but I suppose he’ll have an idea of how low he’ll want to drop to do so
  8. I think the bigger revelations here are that JJ and Ollie have been involved in a relationship and that one of them has carried the child.
  9. *Zooms in* Couldn't even afford the cellular Apple Watch
  10. Just give us your academy and you can have Chambers or Bertie. Actually, just give us the bibs and cones from your academy and you can have both.
  11. Bloke has a bit of a tan in that photo. Rather than the photos in training of him looking like a heroin addict.
  12. Thing with Buendia was his eye for a great pass, yes, but also his ability to create space for others with his movement. Hope this fella can replicate some of that
  13. Hold on: while Newcastle have had opportunities, we’ve been in this game. Fine, decision making has been crap, but we’re more than in this match
  14. Newcastle return to their defensive shape v well. Need to draw them out somehow
