You may be onto something there I thought it was a bit strange that Garde came out with the Remy thing at the time. He is not stupid, he must have sounded something out first. Maybe Chelsea said that it maybe possible so long as they get there additional signings in the window. Hiddink got annoyed cuz there was no guarantee of this. The supporters would also have been annoyed if Hiddink had said yes Remy may go on loan, when they hadn't signed anyone yet. Just speculating (wishful thinking) of course.
