Have we been massively mugged off by Brentford for an extra £10mill, yes. Do I care at this point? Not really. No wonder this took so long. Whoever Brentford's chairman is is the Daniel Levy of the championship. He needs a pay rise. One thing we can't do is pretend we're now being sensible on transfers, we are literally the opposite. But we needed a striker and hopefully Watkins is worth the gamble!

I'm very much in favour of the Lange/Southampton transfer style of using stats to buy undervalued players across Europe, but I'd actually take Troy Deeney for £1-2mill. Can't fault his attitude, and if he pretended he was playing Villa every week instead of for Villa every week, he'd win golden boot.

Agreed. Judging by other clubs they're rotating the teams massively which is the best thing to do as this is basically pre season and also gives a great chance to look a different players. Absolutely no reason why Mings and Grealish shouldn't get decent minutes. This is personal between Southgate and Villa. I think the fact he commented on the fans hating him for leaving for Middlesbrough proves that. GET OVER IT SOUTHGATE!!!! -
I do think they'll get Sancho in the end. And good point, a lot of clubs with operate this way this season with COVID. Doubt Bournemouth are desperate for money after Ramsdale, Wilson, King also

Yeah agreed. Although I also think a lot of clubs are struggling financially at the moment and assuming Man Utd, who were linked with him earlier in the window, get Sancho then I can't think of many clubs that will be able to pay that amount of money for him this window. Do players like Brooks, Sarr etc. want championship football to wait or a bigger move? I'm not so sure. I'm hoping these "big moves" may open up towards the end of the window.

Yeah I think it's potentially unrealistic, but at the same time can't see many teams paying the £35mill or so it'd take to get him. Maybe we wouldn't pay that much but I think we have the capability to do so. Only issue is he's not English which seems to be our theme this window

I think the fact we spent £16mill on a RB, close to £20mill bid on a GK suggests we may spend £30mill on a player. In fact I think it's entirely possible we will.

Not been mentioned by any press but the player I'd love from Bournemouth is Brooks. Always rated him and he'd slot in perfectly on the right.

Interesting to see we didn't actually go in for Wilson. It'll be interesting to see who we actually do go for. On one side, I like that maybe we are trying for bigger deals but on the other I'm worried it's been over a month now and all we've managed to do is sign a RB we only needed because our starter looks like he doesn't fancy England anymore. What are we doing ?????

What I don't understand about Journo's is why pretend there's these secret targets that only they know about. Surely if he knew we were in for someone who's not been mentioned he'd write an "exclusive". Isn't that his job?

Maybe signing Cash was a result of Guilbert wanting to leave and not the other way round. I fear this would be a loan though. Confident he'd do well enough in France to warrant a £10mill fee which wouldn't be awful business.

Yeah to be fair, he will be adequate, like the rest of our signings I'm sure. Probably won't do anything spectacular but hopefully we'll be steady. Not sure Grealish will accept another mediocre season, but oh well.
