Slightly controversial opinion: I would never direct abuse towards a player as it’s pointless but... At the end of the day, these players are getting paid 40k-80k a week whilst people are undeservingly being made redundant. Criticism is part and parcel of the game, although there is obviously a line people shouldn’t cross. If you can’t ignore/deal with it, then get out the club. You’d be doing BOTH the club and the fans a huge favour.

That’s a very good point. I did doubt the legitimacy of the picture as there’s no way that was posted for 8hours and absolutely no one from the #AVFC twitter army or any Journalist saw it. The profile pic has been him holding his child has not changed all summer. Probably a fake image unfortunately

Hope so mate, Rashica has been the one I’ve wanted from the start and I said before we signed him Traoré is the signing I think will be a dud. Hope to be proven wrong but a interchangeable forward line of Grealish Rashica Watkins is filthy

I’ve been on the Rashica Rocket ride the whole transfer window but think he’ll end up at Bayern. Think we’ll still get a forward though. Someone like Shaqiri on loan would make sense

I wonder if Shaqiri is headed to us on loan. Klopp said he’s off and would fit in with what Alan Nixon has said about us meeting an agent/pushing the boat out etc. A bit of 2+2 work but you never know

He's in the "God Tier" of Journalists (he goes the pub with Villareport), even above our beloved JP. Obviously not done yet, but when it is, he'll know.

I would love to see: Rashica Grealish Watkins with all three rotating throughout the game. That would be lethal in my opinion.

Fair enough mate, yeah I think he played RW previous to last year, I'd be fine with him doing that. Yeah I don't think many people do have sources at the club at the moment, but I guess it doesn't really matter either way.

I think Watkins is considered a ST as well as Edouard so I'm confused. I agree it would be good to have a designated RW. Here are Rashica's positions he's played in his career, think he'd do a job at RW: "Everything this summer has been out in the open" "The clueless beige man Gregg Evans always tries to keep it going because he hasn't a clue what's going on" these statements contradict or have I missed the point?

Mods lock the forum after news goes quiet 7. Repeat cycle from number 1

Depends who you believe, Ian Taylor or the Press on that one. I don't think anyone has suggested, and I can probably confirm at least in the last 10 or so years, that no signing we have made in that time has first announced by the club. So I agree on that point.

Watkins was a clear number one target from the start, Wilson we were never in for him, Rashica we only know about because of Stacey and the Kosovan journalist who personally knows him, had nothing from British press. Martinez we only knew about weeks ago because of S-Platt, the concrete story only came out a few days ago, hence the thread only started a few days ago. I'd say we've done pretty well at keeping things quiet

We've been pretty tight lipped on most players so far this window. Also it's from the Daily Fail. So I'd say there's little to no chance this is legit.

It's not as simple though as Nakamba can replace McGinn or Hourihane. He's a holding midfielder. Grealish may want to play central but until we sign 2 new wingers, he'll stay where he performed best last season which was LW. Ramsay going on loan I thought? In my opinion, Lansbury is cack so I don't believe we do have enough cover, hence the rumours we are looking at one.

Agreed. I think we underestimate how short we are in midfield. Assuming Grealish plays out wide, the only CM cover we have is Lansbury
