  1. Arsenal just showed how to play against Man City away out of possession but we just don’t have the personnel available in midfield. It would be a lot to put on Tim but feels like tactically what we should do.
  2. I wonder how many bullshit yellow cards we’ll get given on Wednesday…. Complete farce.
  3. That’s pretty much guaranteed, there’s a reason why Guardiola, Emery etc don’t play that way and it’s because they know it’s not sustainable. Bielsa, Howe, Ange are all cut from a similar cloth.
  4. The positive for us about spurs is they only know one way of playing - 100 miles per hour. These derbies v west ham, Chelsea and Arsenal are going to be combustible and hopefully the fixture congestion in the final few weeks will catch up with them and at the very least balance out our additional European fixtures.
  5. Game management will be key. We could do with cash back asap to be able to rotate.
  6. We will likely need four or five wins of the remaining games to secure fourth. Brentford, Bournemouth, Chelsea, Palace and then one of Brighton/Liverpool may be needed.
  7. It could also easily be at least three wins from their next 5 depending on which spurs shows up. They could beat - or lose - to any of those teams on their day.
  8. I could ask you exactly the same question.
  9. Very nervous and excited about this game. Hopefully Ollie gets a goal to put the international break behind him. A goal from Diaby or Ramsey would also be perfect. As long as we don’t concede from a set piece we should have enough.
  10. It’s their favorite stadium because they’ve all got happy memories of beating us so often during our abject years.
  11. Errr no. That’s why it’s an incredibly sub optimal stadium in the modern age. I guess some may see beauty in what is basically an architectural mess but I’d suggest that they’re probably at least partially blinded by claret and blue tinted glasses.
  12. There has never been a holistic plan for villa park. That’s the entire problem. We have a bastardized trinity that replaced the most beautiful stand in the history of football, we have a dual tier holte that bears no resemblance to its previous single stand glory. We have a north stand that is quite frankly rotting and the Doug Ellis is an abomination purely for its name.
  13. Depends how far back the CPO went. If it went to Holte Road that’s unlikely to be sufficient. If it went to Yew Tree road we’re in business as you could then probably rotate the stadium as well. But it would have to be CPO all the way.
  14. And how long do you think this broke ass council is going to be able to maintain it for? The unfortunate reality is that its future is already probably very gloomy.
  15. As I said in a perfect world we’d keep it if it didn’t get in the way of everything else but if the last time you visited it was 2 years ago it would hardly be missed. It’s not as if the Magna Carta was signed there. Anyhows this is all pure conjecture so no need to dig into this further.
  16. And when did you last go inside Aston hall?
  17. When was the last time you went inside said building?
  18. Rogers is nowhere near ready but we can all see his potential. Zaniolo is a walking red card in a heated derby atmosphere. Has to be Ramsey.
  19. The council need to raise 1.25 billion pounds in the next year or so to keep their heads above water and a minimum 500m of that has to be through asset sales. We should absolutely be battering down their door to force a move through for Aston Hall and all the surrounding land or another land parcel big enough to build a stadium more central. Any council owned land right now is up for grabs for the right bid. If we can keep the hall and incorporate it into a new stadium complex in a sympathetic manner then great but if not - get approval to flatten it. The council could even come in as partners and keep an interest going forward as it could be a very significant regeneration project.
  20. He has to start if the alternatives are Zaniolo and Rogers. Hopefully we get ahead and can then take him off in the second half where the game state will better suit the replacement options.
  21. It’s owned by the bankrupt council is it not?
  22. It’s absolutely the definition of a must win. If we don’t win tomorrow then we fully open the door for Spurs and give Man Utd another sniff of fifth.
  23. If Ramsey is back and assuming Tim hasn’t shone in training the team picks itself: Martinez Konsa. Carlos Pau Digne Tielemans Luiz Diaby. Ramsey Bailey Watkins Very attacking but realistically we don’t have any other option. If Ramsey’s not fit then we swap for Zaniolo or Tim.
  24. Let’s keep it simple, we just need to beat wolves and avoid red cards and injuries. Anything against city would be a huge bonus. We can then reassess.
  25. Why not? Why should clubs be held back because they’ve been savvy enough to think ahead?
