  1. Rogers is nowhere near ready but we can all see his potential. Zaniolo is a walking red card in a heated derby atmosphere. Has to be Ramsey.
  2. The council need to raise 1.25 billion pounds in the next year or so to keep their heads above water and a minimum 500m of that has to be through asset sales. We should absolutely be battering down their door to force a move through for Aston Hall and all the surrounding land or another land parcel big enough to build a stadium more central. Any council owned land right now is up for grabs for the right bid. If we can keep the hall and incorporate it into a new stadium complex in a sympathetic manner then great but if not - get approval to flatten it. The council could even come in as partners and keep an interest going forward as it could be a very significant regeneration project.
  3. He has to start if the alternatives are Zaniolo and Rogers. Hopefully we get ahead and can then take him off in the second half where the game state will better suit the replacement options.
  4. It’s owned by the bankrupt council is it not?
  5. It’s absolutely the definition of a must win. If we don’t win tomorrow then we fully open the door for Spurs and give Man Utd another sniff of fifth.
  6. If Ramsey is back and assuming Tim hasn’t shone in training the team picks itself: Martinez Konsa. Carlos Pau Digne Tielemans Luiz Diaby. Ramsey Bailey Watkins Very attacking but realistically we don’t have any other option. If Ramsey’s not fit then we swap for Zaniolo or Tim.
  7. Let’s keep it simple, we just need to beat wolves and avoid red cards and injuries. Anything against city would be a huge bonus. We can then reassess.
  8. Why not? Why should clubs be held back because they’ve been savvy enough to think ahead?
  9. It absolutely is in the context of season ticket prices if we stay at VP unless they find a way to knock down and completely rebuild the north stand and Doug Ellis. The larger capacity, hospitality and non football related revenue we have the less pressure there will be on increasing season ticket prices.
  10. So for all those advocating to stay at Villa Park what annual price rise would you be happy to pay for your season ticket going forward? Realistically it’s going to be a minimum of 10 to 15 percent every year for the foreseeable future. That’s without getting into the inevitable rebranding of existing season tickets as hospitality/experience tickets.
  11. This is great for us. Watkins still has something to prove so will be busting to get more goals and assists. I really don’t give a damn about England, especially under this fraud of a manager.
  12. We desperately need him back v wolves as the drop off to Morgan is huge at the moment and Zaniolo is a toin coss as to what kind of performance we will get.
  13. Yes, if the council could CPO that then we’d be good. Hopefully the club have had the sense to buy properties there whenever they became available since the new owners came onboard.
  14. Where did the club categorical rule that out? I know that the likes of Townley have said that was “their understanding” but I wasn’t aware the club had specifically ruled a stadium move or complete rebuild out.
  15. Do you know for sure that they’re not? It’s blatantly obvious that the status quo can’t remain so I strongly suspect that they are looking at all possible options re renovating villa park, building a new stadium on the site (which would be the preferred option of course), or building a new stadium elsewhere.
  16. Stadium cost is of course relevant but ultimately if it allows us to be even more competitive it won’t matter to the owners. Let’s say if it meant our commercial revenues went anywhere near spurs then they would see a huge increase in the clubs valuation. That’s all they will care about because one day they will exit.
  17. In some ways it may be better for Ollie and Konsa to miss out. No way we win it under this clown and it’s going to be an almighty toxic mess when we do get knocked out to the first decent team we play in the knock out stages.
  18. They categorically have to or find a way of rebuilding villa park very quickly. After retaining Emery it is probably the second single biggest issue that will prevent the owners scaling their investment. Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool, Man Utd, Man City, Newcastle, West Ham, Chelsea and Everton (new stadium) are already out of sight regarding the commercial income that their stadiums generate. That’s half the league.
  19. We won’t have a history worthy of discussion in 20 years if we don’t take the very difficult decision to put the clubs future growth potential first.
  20. I’d have agreed that the club weren’t looking to move but the big elephant in the room is Altairos. We wouldn’t need to have them onboard unless there were some very large capital infrastructure projects being discussed.
  21. But you’d still lose all income associated with having one stand out of action for at least one season and probably a downturn in on the pitch performances as well.
  22. Basically to do it properly at VP you’d have to level it stand by stand and do it over a multi year period. That’s likely to be expensive due to the nature of the build, screw our PSR as we’ll always be playing with three stands until the rebuild is complete. And it doesn’t solve for the transport issues and isn’t a perfect solution to make it a genuine multipurpose venue. Alternatives would be to: A - build a new stadium on the same site but move the pitch as Spurs did but apparently that’s not feasible. B - Knock the whole thing down and start again but would we then ground share with Wolves? C - Build a brand new stadium elsewhere and move in when it’s ready.
  23. Yes in a perfect world but this does not solve the transportation issues and we would be totally screwed for FFP for the period of the stadium build.
  24. We have to leave Villa Park and the sooner the better. Half the league will have significantly bigger and more modern stadiums with more commercial revenue than us and sooner or later that is going to catch up and bite us hard. Emery will only be able to deliver miracles for so long. No point in having sentimental memories of the ground if the club gets left behind for future generations.
  25. The difference is that Everton and Forest have largely complied with the process. Man City have obstructed from the very start and have a huge team of extremely highly paid lawyers fighting every single charge. The leagues case v city has to be watertight otherwise City will eat them for breakfast.
