  1. I've followed Nantes as a European team since I was a kid going on Camping holidays to Western France. I wish they played this friendly 20 years ago, would have been an amazing start to my family summer holiday I'll probably go to Bristol Rovers as thats pretty close for me.
  2. Whether it's through these tests or by Villa, I'd like to think the checking of funds goes further than just the money to buy the club. Which I guess, should there be an issue this could be it and not necessarily that the money's not there just the transparency of where it is coming from. Hopefully Dr Xia can put some minds at rest when they speak to him, if it's even necessary.
  3. Previously it was reported as a plan for the future. Now, at least according to the article he's actually in talks to buy a club somewhere.
  4. For some reason for a while now I've been thinking that Comolli might still be happening. Even though it was denied/played down at the time of the takeover announcement. I think Dr Xia has a plan to implement as soon as the takeover is confirmed and it's no coincidence he has mentioned the scouting network. His link just seems a strange one if he had no involvement at all. I've been staring at that changing room pic trying to make out if the number 10 shirt could be Comolli. If it's not him I wouldn't be surprised if it is for someone who will be a director of football or in a similar role.
  5. That tea cup is nearly big enough to be at his theme park.
  6. Attendances were pretty poor everywhere around then weren't they? I was born in 81 so was really only just beginning my Villa love affair around then.
  7. Don't think it's been touched on but in the CNN interview with the bloke, when he asks about the mix up about the five listed companies actually being one. Dr Xia says it was a miscommunication with the language and possibly due to a difference in the business system. He then says they actually control even more than five public companies just indifferent ways. What do you think this means?
  8. You can see that it's possible to pick holes in the case that the Reading situation was all Samuelson's doing. Reading fans naturally are going to want someone to blame and untill now all the info is aimed at blaming Samuelson with no real need to have a fair debate. That's not to say he wasn't to blame or that he doesn't push/cross the legality boundaries.
  9. Same with someone I work with. Although he doesn't moan as much to me because he knows how bad we've been and realises it can be worse.
  10. I think he said it in one of those first couple of interviews.
  11. It was someone else, who was doing it as more of a statement (well that's how it appeared). Of course money comes into it. If you think you aren't going to enjoy watching the football Villa would play then £500 is a lot to put down if you're not sure, which is fair enough. Personally I'd never like to presume someone is going to fail, even if they aren't on my list of favoured candidates. As I said I'll always have hope till it's obvious it's not going to happen.
  12. Should have read new replies before sending. The last bit was more general than just aimed at you. I've seen somebody say they aren't getting a season ticket if it's RDM. Which of course is their decision but it just seems a strange one without knowing what it's going to be like. Not getting one because of Lerner makes sense, as would if there was a moral objection to a new manager/owner. I just find it strange that someone would write of any hope because of a certain manager.
  13. Even @Woodytom has had his positive moments regarding the takeover. Every post I've noticed of yours is a moan. I don't think I could enjoy football and certainly not Villa if had no hope. Some times it comes crashing down but the hope always returns. I'm sure I've posted similar earlier but ALL managers fail at some point, some successful ones are only really successful at one club. Whoever it is, The new manager might have that right man, right time, right club moment. Opinions are fine but some things are just over the top.
  14. Could this not just be the money in a holding account for the club? Rather than any other fund.
  15. I don't know why it's in my head, but I think I read Villa had been in communication with The FA through the process in advance of the takeover announcement, making sure everything was being done correctly.
  16. It's been a bad start but providing he comes through the checks and turns out to be good, then this could actually better than any publicity stunt they could have thought of. It's drawn a lot of attention.
  17. Well that works, there is no way Samuelson is doing that.
  18. He's The Telegraphs Beiijing reporter, he lives there. I think he may be Villa fan also.
  19. And I think 20 will just be Adama's shirt.
  20. I posted similar a couple of days ago, the only good outcome is, this takeover goes ahead and we're not getting screwed over.
  21. Yes it's definitely been mentioned that the premier league are doing their checks but The Football league won't start till we are officially part of them. Which just seems like some pathetic bureaucracy. Hopefully it is under way and will be announced when we are officially in the Championship. I suppose at least this way it gives them time to do what they do without any timescale pressure.
  22. Forgetting about his history with other football clubs for a second. What worries me a little, If you go by past rumours, he's potentially been part of 2 previous failed attempts to buy Villa already and now at the third attempt he's managed it (well currently involved rather than owns). Has he struck lucky finding someone with strong backing to work with or has he tried to go a different elaborate route to his previous attempts of getting hold of the club? Of course the other rumours might not be true or he might not have been involved but there's some mighty coincidences.
