Do you remember when Gil first joined and he had a great initial cameo and then scored the fluky shot/cross goal in his second game and we thought he would be amazing? Only for the reality to be that he was lightweight and a bit crap really. I'm really concerned that Baily is going to be the Gil second coming.

Sorry if already discussed in the plethora of previous pages, but no sign of Jack in training pics/vids today. Any info on this as if not, that can't bode well surely.

I like the way we have gone about our business thus far and I believe it has been done with the realisation that Jack will most likely be going. We have managed to get a key target in early, a creative playmaker, possibly Jack's replacement, before we are in possession of the vast sum Jack will go for. A very wise move as we know prices rise when you are sat on a pile of cash. In addition, any discussion and subsequent deal for Jack will take place after the tournament, in the hope he has a blinder and adds more to his price. The fact that big nose is an absolute word removed and won't pick him, is a slight set back and wasn't part of the plan, but there is still time. However, it is also this fact that will be the reason Jack will feel he needs to leave, as he won't be overlooked when playing for Man City. The only reason Jack won't go is if the price isn't right and it has to be for us to sell and it can't be any less than £100M. It looks to me as though Villa have made the right decisions regarding what is a massive change to the club, so as much as I don't want him to leave, I'm happy we have gone about our business in the best way for the club. It will also be very interesting to see how much of he money we spend and on who????

I was quietly confident Jack would stay this summer, but I think he will now want that move to Manure as he clearly isn't going to get an international look in at Villa. Our England manager proves himself to be a liar and a hypocrite, forcing Jack's hand to leave his beloved club. Dark period for England and Villa fans. My hatred for big nose knows no bounds!!

That YouTube video is very unimpressive. Predominantly tap-ins and 6 yard line headers. Not one goal (in the first half of the video, got bored after that) was self created and we just aren't going to give him that level of service and chances on a plate. If we sign two great wingers then he might be an option off the bench, but not for 20+ million for me.

I think the very best we can do is win against Palace and draw against WHam. 31 points is simply not going to be enough. I think the more relevant subject now is how many seasons do you think it will take us to return to the premier league?

How did you feel after Wolves? How do you feel now? The only three points since was against 10 men. Many people worried we won't go up through playoffs. That's making a massive assumption we will make the playoffs! Highly unlikely we will be getting any points from Cardiff, Millwall or Derby. You do the math. I would seriously consider sacking him now if the right man were available, new manager bounce and all that!

I have to agree, he does look like one of our better players but he has absolutely no end product and is completely ineffectual in the final third. Pretty much sums the whole team up as it happens. We need a better option until he finds his scoring and crossing boots. I suspect he doesn't own a pair!

This season will be offal

I am just about erring on the side of thinking, or more hoping, this will be a good signing, but lets look at the potential pros and cons: Firstly, he has been an exceptional defender throughout his career and we can hope he is still better than most in the Championship. What I really expect from him though, is that when the players go in at half time following the kind of performances we had to put up with last season, and there's nothing to suggest we won't continue to see more, he will give them a real shake up as he is a winner and will want those around him to have the same attitude and expectations. I simply don't think he will put up with the level of shite performances we have witnessed. However, there is a real possibility he is now shot and barely able to play, even to the standards and requirements of the Championship. It's also very likely that he won’t leave Cobham for the Midlands so constantly travelling and therefore won’t mix much with the squad with the exception of their wives who he will invite back to Cobham when his Mrs takes the kids to her Mums. My biggest concern, however, is his huge gambling problem which has forced him to re-mortgage his house twice and his cars are bought on tick. He is skint and Villa just may provide him with the pension bonus he is looking for. It does appear though, that his addiction hasn't seemed to affect his performances on the pitch. In conclusion, the guy is obviously looking for a big final payday and Villa are repeat offenders where this is concerned. However, just his name alone may be the lift this club needs, and if he can keep his personal problems personal, it may just work out for both parties. After all, none of us are paying his wages and promotion bonus.

Am I right in saying that in order to watch the match free on Sky, you must already have Sky? Is there anywhere else it can be watched or do I need to find a stream?

I take umbrage when this little gem is rolled out at the best of times, but how on earth does it apply when a title challenger plays a relegation battler? Rotherham was our "6 pointer" and i'm sure we only got 3 points for it!
