  1. If some people won £10m on the lottery, they'd complain it wasn't £12m.
  2. Omar Bogle, yes, I am very aware of him, Wrexham had the chance to sign him before going to Grimsby and we (Wrexham) fluffed the chance. He then shot Grimsby out of the conference and continued to belt them in a league above before the move to Wigan. I'd offer Wigan £2m and double their investment, the guy is a goal machine.
  3. If Ake goes back out on loan, it'd be in the Prem, surely? He's already been proving himself there.
  4. It was a light hearted stat that tickled me. Blimey. Change it to Gardner then, but he's got a goal to his name.
  5. Sam Johnstone - 14 games 1 assist Ashley Westwood - 23 games 0 assists
  6. He's got his contact for next season so why haven't his performance levels dropped, what a f**king disgrace.
  7. Yeah, kinda how like Watford had Deeney and Igahlo all ready to go after playing together in the Championship. They took to the Premier League like a duck to water in their first season.
  8. Just realised I was sat on the loo watching this for 4 minutes straight.
  9. Hopefully you've scored at least as much as Kodjia this weekend.
  10. I hear ya, winning and a more progressive playing style. That would be the ultimate. It's trying to find a balance because the more expansive we get then the sooner the clean sheets will soon drop. Utd are probably the thing to aim at as they are crushing teams in terms of chances, possession and sheets but they can't seem to score, they have the right balance minus goals if Ibra isn't there. I'm all down for trying to improve all facets but at the same time, we need to respect what we are doing at present. If leagues and cups were won on stats, every league would look hugely different. If we're in a set up right, 70% possession means very little. It's how many chances you create with the possession you have that counts. Should our possession rise then I would wager so would the more chances the opposition have, despite them having less of the ball.
  11. If Pickford doesn't get snapped up he'd stay at Sunderland. He's a Sunderland lad. I'm 99.9% sure he'd rather try and get Sunderland back up than move to another Championship club, even the Villa. It's just realism. No way Gayle will spend another season down here either. Abraham isn't logical either with Kodjia and Hogan. We could do with another striker but it's not going to be on that scale. I'd rather go for someone banging then in lower down.
  12. He could look as cool as the Hull manager and have Liam Daish's beard. That'd be great.
  13. Stats, shmats. Defensive structure and soaking up play and countering is as much football as any other and counter attacking has been a Villa way since O'Neil and maybe before with Little and Gregory going for 3-5-2's. Possession counts for shit if you do little with it. Modern football is boring with teams bossing possession but doing little triangle passes and 10 yard back and to passes from CB to holding midfielder which may look great stats wise but do sod all in terms of opening up a defence.
  14. Another clean sheet and an assist. Great stuff.
  15. Long spell? He's played 13 league games, conceded 15 and kept 5 clean sheets. It's not astounding but it's solid enough. People will harp on about how the team and defence have been better of late but won't mention how the team and defence were at times atrocious during the win-less spell. His good record, numbers wise is slightly shorter than the bad but the bad is referred to as the norm and his good as short and just 'recently'. Maybe he should be judged as a whole rather than the start where he joined a mess rebuilding and now, a more coherent team. I'm not for or against Johnstone but he does get far more of a pasting than he deserves in my view, hence why I argue more for him on here.
  16. Valdes has had a good season with Boro if you ask me. They have one of the better defensive records in the league despite their crap league position.
  17. 3rd choice Liverpool keeper is Danny Ward who's around Johnstone's age and the starting keeper for Huddersfield this season, on loan, who seem to be doing alright.
