  1. Not someone. A pregnant someone. Imagine a person responsible for helping new life into the world, actually prioritizing that life.
  2. There is no data demonstrating the medium or long term safety of these vaccines. In particular, w.r.t. fetal and later child development. The timeline is important here, as the vaccine trials themselves were crystal clear on not including pregnant women. Our knowledge of the safety profile of these vaccines for this population has come from direct in the wild testing. No obvious issue has emerged, but given the mess of data reporting, one must wait longer for a deeper data analysis, i.e., see the clotting issues. Covid facism yet again. Sometimes things are complicated.
  3. That's poor person talk. Where poor is code for lazy, unmotivated and unwilling to work. American dream baby, whoooo!
  4. Should be fun, for a while at least, welcome aboard.
  5. Let's hope he is allowed to bring in his own backroom staff and not be hamstrung in the same way Smith was.
  6. Right... which gun was the good gun?!? Makes the mind boggle.
  7. I think you are forgetting the Russia, Russia, Russia stuff and the constraints that placed on domestic policy.
  8. He is also flexible, having his team play nice at times and as utter bastards at times. Our games against WH over the past 2 seasons demonstrated so much of what was missing. I'd welcome us kicking lumps out of them next time we play. This big boy bully ball thing can't be our kryptonite. This needs to be a priority for the new manager.
  9. But, it's never that simple, e.g., the current Dem struggles or Obama in 2008.
  10. That's not correct. His admin had a plan and it never got near the house floor due to politics, hence there was never anything to negotiate over. Nothing particularly special about this as every president would love to spend big on infrastructure. Politics is incredibly short term over here and with big things like this it's simply not possible to cleave them off to a federal/independent agency that could operate on longer horizons. That Trump's only major domestic policy triumph was the tax bill says so much about the totality of US politics.
  11. It's amazing... actual current happenings like important things such as the budget, silence. Mention Trump and it like a clarion call to all those from the principled moral high ground or some such.
  12. An infrastructure bill was one of his big things, but could never get it out of the WH due to the Russia, Russia bs and familiar splintering of "his" party and then covid hit.
  13. Too much politics. Obama tried it and the repub were against it. Trump tried it and the dems were against it. Biden trying it and the repubs are against it, sorta and somewhat tbd.
  14. Meanwhile... Zidane goes from a B-team... Pep goes from a B-team... Allegri from a small club... The fascination with experience is an unproductive constraint.
  15. Rangers was a dumpster fire when he took over. Far, far worse condition than when Deano took us over on a relative basis. Gerrard would be taking a bigger risk taking the Villa job than we would by giving it to him, as if hangs on picking up silverware at Rangers for another 2 yrs, he'll be the hot candidate for replacing Klopp.
  16. Nancy finally got an infrastructure bill passed, let's see what happens in the senate. Any more pork and it'll become a farm bill. Mental that getting this done is so hard given the state of basic infrastructure over here. Imagine how cool things would be if the bazillions had been spent at home instead of destroying elsewhere.
  17. I'd prefer we pay up to get Christophe Galtier if we were to go French again. He's a guy with real underdog pedigree. Tough market right now. At least being linked with Gerrard is much much better than being linked with Lampard.
  18. Thanks Deano, brought back that great looking fwd to a game feeling that had been utterly destroyed by the previous decade. Hard to argue with it coming to an end after losing 5 on the bounce and < 1pt/game and the end to last season, but damn there were some good times, and that your last victorious hurrah was at OT. Happy memories.
  19. The arrests continue in the Russia investigation. Making far less news these days in the mainstream press, funnily enough.
  20. No there's not. The ~1.5C is already baked in, and the data says we are on track for something approaching 2C in total, see the IPCC report science sections. Change is afoot and is secular in nature, e.g., see US CO2 emission which rolled over a number of years ago due to the large scale switching from coal to gas. Similar programs are in progress to some degree in most parts of the world. Society is changing and is changing at a pace that is making measurable impacts. The sky is falling mantra of the politically motivated types is deliberate, and designed to create the maximum response in the mind of the populace. A much more nuanced and sensible discussion of the issue would be of significant benefit to society.
  21. We are so lucky that you are the only person capable of humor. This place would be so dull otherwise.
  22. Meanwhile, Nancy continues her valiant quest to aid "the people".
