I disagree, I like Weimann, but he is a striker and that is all, definitely not a winger and especially not in a 4-4-2. Whether Gil should play or not is up for debate but if Gil doesn't fit into a 4-4-2 on the wing then Weimann definitely doesn't.
Weimman will run up and down that side all day. I'm not sure GIll will do the same.
I'm not a fan of picking someone who works hard over someone with quality but I think that's partly the reason behind it as we're in a real fight at the moment.
My point is saying someone doesn't fit into a specific system then playing a striker on the wing makes the point invalid no?
Did anyone here Sherwood during the second half shout "If we're going to press the game you need to push forward". Whilst i'm not going to say Sherwood isn't tactically naive at times I do think our tendencies to sit back are probably still a hangover from the Lambert era.
Guys, did you know that earlier in the game there was an incident where Wayne Rooney dived but should have had a penalty? Its the first i've heard of it.....
If in doubt throw your arms up in the air, its a natural reaction, every time i've fallen over or been pushed I instantly flail my arms around in the air just to make sure everyone knows i've been touched.
