Definitely agree. Gestede has upped his game and attitude. Ayew has not ..... he still thinks he is better than he is and his contribution to the team is barely greater than any of the corner flags. I would get rid fast and use the money wisely ..... we don't need him and he is a poor fit with where we are going.

Decent first half but failed to get key second goal. When Huddersfield decided to go for it with 30 mins left, we made a bad call and decided to defend with all ten outfield players. We needed to leave a player or two up top rather than pack our own box with every Villa shirt because that just sucked in the pressure. Gollini made more good saves than errors so he was in credit last night. Midfield was our weakness again. Complete lack of creativity and vision. You can't play Grealish AND Ayew - they both deliver no end product - we need the vision in there to release McCormack. Rudy is a reborn CF - was a real nuisance out there and looks the part at this level which, as others have said, is a crap standard and nothing like the "tough" league we were warned about. Need to both add a couple of bodies AND sort out the best mix in what we have and we will be in with a shout by season's end. Great atmosphere last night - genuine positive spirit both on and off the pitch - long may it remain !

He is a big guy who plays like a big girl. He has size but plays without it. Never attacks the ball in the box, easily out-muscled, completely devoid of confidence ..... I don't even get mildly excited anymore when he comes on.

Individual talent but his body language and attitude are appalling and depressing. Lazy too. Really would be very happy to trade him for somebody more committed !

Poor game. Looked lightweight, lost confidence very quickly, didn't seem to know what his role was and clearly couldn't handle physical opposition. Potential but a boy dabbling with a man's game on last night's showing !

Huffs and puffs and puts the effort in but is just a mess with no obvious "best position" ..... if anybody offers anything for him then sell without hesitation. I'd even trade him for a bag of old training balls !

Usual Grealish performance ..... danced around with the ball, showed his individual skills but contributed nothing with no end product and an obvious lack of awareness as to what his role was. He doesn't score, he doesn't tackle well, he doesn't defend well, he doesn't cross well, his vision is poor and his passing has no impact ..... usually backwards. Pretty to watch, interesting hair but a pointless player who delivers nothing of use to a struggling team.

There is absolutely no - as in absolute zero - "good" in Villa losing this game or indeed ANY game. We need to build momentum, we need to build a positive mentality, we need to start playing with the confidence that only comes from winning. This is not a time to be "concentrating on the league", this is a time to win and win well !!!!

Surely there is no such thing as "full strength" at this stage of the season ..... nobody knows what our best eleven is !!!

Apparently best car options are to park at the Beech Hill Conservative Club (100 spaces) which is less than 5 mins from away entrance or park at Station (760 spaces) and catch FREE buses run from station to away end.

Defence was okay ..... midfield was weak and lacked creativity ..... Gestede was weak and useless as a target man and rendered McCormack irrelevant as a result albeit he should have scored the one flick on Gestede made for him. I liked the additional spirit shown by Elphick and McCormack - good to see - and the only other positive is that if Wednesday are one of the fancied sides then we should do well this season because they looked pretty average to me ! Need to sign some creative midfielders and we need to give up on Gestede.
