  1. I think that was highlighted in that twitter thread analysis of the Spurs game. Countinho didn't press Bentancur so Luiz had to, leaving too much space. Although Coutinho was excellent that game, Buendia would have been much more effective pressing their DM.
  2. I think the likes of West Ham would be more attractive than us currently, especially if they lose Rice, Wolves if they lose Neves or Newcastle as they'll pay more. He won't be choosing us if he has those options, especially if we finish below Brighton, which is a possibility.
  3. Does it really matter where he plays? We likely won't get him if we finish below Brighton.
  4. Who'll be gone first? Boris Johnson or Steven Gerrard?
  5. Mane is one example, sure. But that isn't the case for every transfer. Using Liverpool as an example, the signed an injury prone 29 year old Thiago, not much sell on potential as you say, but sometimes you have to take the risk.
  6. Selling a player because they get a mega offer from two of the most prestigious teams in football is not the same as buying a player to make him better with the intention of selling him as soon as a bigger club comes in for him.
  7. That's a selling club mentality, we'll never break top 6 with that.
  8. Seems like it would be well suited to Bailey. -------------------Luiz---------------------- McGinn----------------------Ramsey ----Buendia---------Coutinho------- -----------------Bailey---------------------
  9. Didn't another of our players sign a new contract and left a few months later?
  10. I think he might retire, if he did it would open the door for Belotti to Milan. Insigne to Toronto is such a strange one, still in his prime and an Italy international.
  11. Terry left before the start of the season.
  12. His wages wouldn't be an issue for us. However he won't come, his dream move is to Milan, and if they don't go for him i'd imagine Conte would snap him up.
  13. Might be worth trying him or Bailey in the front two and dropping either Watkins or Ings.
  14. Except when he plays for Scotland, he looks like Zidane.
  15. He's out of contract in summer, Torino won't get a penny wherever he goes.
  16. Who will he sign for in 2023 when Newcastle sign a £30m left back.
  17. The squad is so unbalanced it's not even funny.
  18. But teams play right through us in the middle.
  19. I think it was also that Coutinho and Buendia were getting in each others way. why does he have to play two 10s anyway? I get he wants the narrow formation so the full backs can provide the width, but he could still play to wide players that cut in on their stronger foot which would still give the full backs room to. Coutinho right footed on left and Bailey left footed on right.
  20. Fair enough, a valid reason for not wanting him.
  21. Exactly, and he's played with Gerrard and Coutinho before. I don't get the issue people have with signing him, on football matters anyway (the Evra incident and biting aside). He would be here for a year max, play in the world cup and then probably retire or move for a pay day in 2023. The influence he would have on Archer would be worth it alone, even if he only scored 1 goal all season.
  22. He’s also fell out with Simeone, which has also contributed to him being benched.
  23. Spurs paid his release clause, but he rejected them. His release clause has now been increased. He’s destined for the top, no chance I’m afraid.
  24. Not sure, he does seem injury prone. Kamara and Ginter would be good acquisitions. Zagadou is young and highly rated from Dortmund, but is injury prone.
