  1. Ahh ok I was confused. His wiki says that multiple clubs have been tracking him for awhile including Bremen, Arsenal, and Ajax. He moved to Besiktas in January and only made 2 appearances. Injury?
  2. Huh? Did we just rewind the clock back 20 years? lol
  3. Is this guy worth a follow on future Villa news? I can only read his tweets if I follow him.
  4. Lacazette will never put their jersey on. He's miles above them.
  5. A poster on r/avfc is claiming that there are strong rumors that the new owner is Phil Knight and the announcement will be made tomorrow. Anyone can post in that thread so could be a troll but let me just say it would be incredible if he was the buyer. He's the co-founder of Nike and worth over $20 billion.
  6. http://www.turkish-football.com/aston-villa-launch-surprise-bid-for-turkish-youngster/ Alex Richards of The Mirror is on it also: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/transfer-news-live-saturdays-gossip-5999392 (Scroll down to 4:20pm) My god Reading's shirts are awful with that sponsor.
  7. Friend of mine is a dual national whose parents moved back about 5 years ago. Huge Juve fans and their opinion of him is pretty lukewarm. Decent with the ball at his feet but very prone to bonehead mistakes.
  8. He's the real deal. http://www.whoscored.com/Players/134902/
  9. Here's his followup article on that. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/jul/03/idrissa-gueye-aston-villa-lille
  10. He'll be 34 by the time the Euros happen, he's more likely to retire next summer than make the England squad. As a potential makeweight in a deal for Benteke, I don't think he carries much value at all. I still think if we got him for say 1-2 million, he'd be a decent pick up. Look what Luca Toni is doing in Italy at his age. 33 is not that old. In his prime, Luca Toni was world class especially during the Palermo years. I get what you're trying to say but Lambert definitely does not have it in him to pull anything like what Toni is doing now. If Liverpool wants to pay the clause plus Lambert I would say yes. Otherwise he can continue to warm the bench with them.
  11. It's always bothered me that he hasn't been given a proper chance.
  12. If there ever was a game to showcase Westwood this it. Here you are haters.

It was so evident even 15 minutes ago that Richardson needed to go off.
  14. I m not saying its not an improvement on the tail end of the Lambert era. - That wouldn't have taken much. I don't see Sherwood delivering anything other than another relegation battle next season - assuming he keep us up this season. As for my negative analysis - I feel that if Big Sam were in charge next season - we would finish higher up the league than with TS Your memory must be dodgy at best. Have you even bothered to look at Sam's winning %? These type of discussions should be dead for awhile now that Lambert is gone.
  15. He's always had the tools and shown them. I never understood the hot and cold attitude that Lambert and our fanbase had.
  16. We're losing through our own faults but Mason is such a shite ref.
  17. Still early but Lowton is having a great game so far.
  18. I'm not in full blown panic mode, but that's especially worrisome.
  19. This entire post sums up your cluelessness.
  20. He's been making tackles like that all season. He always puts in 100% and I think he'll be a favorite of Tim's.
  21. Clark deserves to be in there. He always puts in 100%.
  22. A combination of reasons. For one I think fans were just disappointed in general at how the season was going by the time AVB was fired and Sherwood took over, Spurs fans have always been a bit precious and just saw it as us giving up on the season instead of giving him a chance. Some believe that Sherwood was poisonous behind the scenes and helped AVB get sacked - personally I think he did that all by himself. Tim's personaility will rub a lot of people up the wrong way, he says everything as it is, some fans will like that and others would rather he were just like most other managers regurgitating stock answers. Pochettino has lost 8 in 25 so far in the premier league. Fairly similar records. Sherwood's record was worse than the bloke he replaced. He got found out very quickly and ditched by Spurs. An egotistical idiot and a tacticial dunce His total management career stretches 4 months and some are creaming themselves over him - beggars belief! Easily a bigger mistake than McLeish if he turns up which looks increasingly likely We have turned a respected, historic club into a complete laughing stock Sherwoods record was worse than avb? Not from what I've seen. AVB W17 D4 L5 Dim Sherwood W14 D4 L10 That record(AVB's) is heavily padded by 8 games against sunday league opposition in the early rounds of the Europa whilst Tim's [cup] record includes games against the likes of Arsenal, Dnipro and Benfica - slightly tougher opposition. League only Tim took 42 points from 22 games, AVB took 27 from 16. I don't normally take posters for gospel but this is a great mini-overview. Personally, I think his personality is exactly what we need right now.
  23. I'm not attempting to be rude but any posts mentioning Klopp should borderline be removed. Even letting that thought cross the mind is laughable.
  24. Well this board is going to go into full meltdown mode and I can't blame any of us for it.
