I thought that against Leicester but yep, we got a lot worse.

Really poor half, created sweet f all and Hull are fighting harder than us. Gil the only glimmer of quality. He has to put Benteke on at half time, take Weimann off who just moans at the ref all the time and gives away free kicks. I'd put Gabby on the right, Benteke up top and have Gil central so he can get more involved.

God Weimann is abysmal.

Sinclair has been really poor.

Gabby pace should cause them but I think that most games and it often doesn't. Bold team selection, fair play to Lambert. I haven't been this nervous for a game in a long time.

There was a moment (which was highlighted on MOTD) when he was in a great position but instead of turning and looking forward, he just knocked it straight back which was infuriating live. He did okay but he nearly cost us a goal and I think Westwood is a far better forward passer, just not as mobile. I'm sure Cleverley would be better with a little more confidence and then he'd stop taking the safe option all the time but at the moment he is a passenger and we can only afford one of them in Benteke.

I'm worried that Lambert will set us up with a 'not to lose' mentality, with maybe the dreaded return of the 4 central midfielders. Hope I'm wrong.

This is something I never thought I'd read about Lambert.

Cleverley had a mare of a first half but was average second half. One of his best performances then. Hope Sanchez plays against Hull. I think Lambert will set us out with a 'can't lose this' mentality so I'm predicting the return of the 4 central midfielders.

We played better, Gil looked brilliant (attacking wise) again. I'm hoping this will give us a little bit more confidence against Hull. Results went pretty well too. Also, Clark was fantastic too.

Milner is still our best player then.

I've wanted Lambert out since last season and continue to do so. Richard (sorry to use you as an example) changing his mind will not get Paul Lambert sacked, everyone has an opinion and that's life. Sadly, the only person capable of making that decision is just as incapable as the manager. Please stay up so we can just go through this all again next season. God I'm depressed.

He's going to Everton apparently, personally im struggling to see why any premierleague team has any interest in him? WHAT DOES HE DO? I can't see Everton wanting him anymore, they could get an awful lot better.

I can see him going to one of the newly promoted teams next season, maybe Bournemouth as they have some cash.

I go into most January windows with pretty low expectations, especially after the business we did in Lambert's first year when we only brought in Sylla and Dawkins, so I'm pretty happy overall, although I would have liked Rickie Lambert to give Benteke a kick up the arse. Gil looks a fantastic edition and I'm looking forward to seeing him against the poorer teams in the league. I'm not much of a fan of Sinclair but the fact he is an actual winger unlike the players who have been playing there is a step in the right direction. And I love Delph, that news came completely out of the blue and I'm delighted he 'signed' too. Hopefully we can scrape another survival, maybe even score a few goals on the way (or just rely on Shane Long again) and then we can finally get rid of Lambert in the summer.

Well, it now seems increasing unlikely we will sign Cleverley now so I'm pretty ecstatic.
