  1. Gil looked good first half but I always worry when Gabby is our most dangerous player. Nothing to get excited about really but at least we were missing Grealish and Gueye who are starters. Replacing Benteke successfully is pivotal to us having a decent season, good luck Tim.
  2. How much was the fee for Gueye? Saw a report yesterday that said £6.5m up front possibly rising to £9m Cheers, I'm never sure how accurate the different reported fees are.
  3. Has it been confirmed on Twitter? Can only find stuff about the turncoat on their website.
  4. He also laughed off Delph leaving so I can see why people would wait for something official.
  5. For me, it isn't solely the quality of Delph that makes this such a huge loss, but the fact with Benteke gone, Delph is head and shoulder's the best in a very average squad. When all those players left, there were always others still at the club with a high level of quality to soften the blow. Another part for me was that I bought into his bullsh*t loyalty and I loved him for it. I was excited to see him play with Gueye and was excited with the players we were linked with by the incoming Benteke money. Now I feel like there is an immense amount of pressure to get those players in and deals like Amavi dragging on make me nervous. Sherwood has a hell of a lot to do, I'd say we need 4 to 5 players in now and bedding that many new ones quickly often doesn't work. Southampton lost their complete spine last season and came back much stronger. They might be good players, but they are also players who were part of a team which was almost relegated on three occasions. Southampton still had some truly excellent players left though and hadn't finished as low as we had. But it will take less for us to improve. We are losing two (one already replaced) they lost four players, I think? And we have a good team of scouts to help us now. True, I just feel there a lot of pressure to get in our top targets now. Things like Amavi dragging don't fill me with confidence.

  8. I don't begrudge Benteke at all for leaving. He deserves to be playing for a better team, will bring us in £30 million and hasn't spouted any of this bullsh*t false loyalty.
  9. I think Gueye was the replacement, we will probably have to wait till Benteke goes to use that money to sign players.
  10. Selling our two best players can't be great for attracting players. My excitement for the links in this speculation thread is already turning into nerves.
  11. My mate who told me when the picture was first released said he has been guaranteed more game time and Benteke leaving could have been a factor. My personal speculation could be to do with the failed takeover maybe? I'm gutted he's going.
  12. He's reported lots of Villa transfer news before anyone else, all the ones I can remember have come off. He was also the only person I remember who still said Cleverly would come after the deadline had passed. Better than most of the so called ITK's on here.
  13. Unless Delph actually is having a medical...

  15. Can you post what he's said, Harj is the only Villa ITK on twitter I bother to look at. Delph has definitely deleted at least 3 photos of his instagram, 2 were about saying goodbye to players leaving.
  16. He has deleted some pic's of instagram as I was only on it the other day. There were ones wishing Lowton and Weimann good luck for leaving and also a couple with a physio or trainer.
  17. He's had a change of heart once, he can do so again, he'd look a right mug though. I've heard from a mate (Man City fan, not a bullshitter) that Benteke going and City have promised him more game time is the reason. This was just after the photo was released too. I'm always dubious until it is confirmed by the club but this would be incredibly disheartening.
  18. If, without the Benteke sale, we can't afford to bring in anymore decent players, I'd hope someone would trigger the clause rather than him staying. I love 'tekkers but we have been a one man team for far too long, £32.5 (or whatever we get after deductions) would be the big investment that we so badly need.
  19. 32.5million would help us improve our squad dramatically, I'd wish him all the best if he goes and hope he can reach the very top. Our current links give me hope that we'd invest the money quite well too.
  20. Just a update from Sherwood on the Transfer Centre. Meanwhile, Sherwood is confident Aston Villa can wrap up a deal Lille midfielder Idrissa Gueye, despite work permit issues. He added: “It looks that way. We are hoping for him to sign. There are work permit issues but I think we’ll be alright with that one.”
  21. Hutton signed a new 3 year contract last season.
  22. He's been utterly brilliant today so far. Well done Charlie.
