  1. Rachel Riley definitely cheers me up, she's definitely not the fittest woman on tv but there's something very sexy about her.
  2. Don’t you hate all ‘superhero’ films though? Saying that you’d have to have a heart of stone not to enjoy parts of Guardians. nope. Some super hero films are good. A couple are excellent. However there are a LOT of superhero/comic book films that are total shite. So I'm very wary of the genre generally as the majority are, IMO, poor I'll still give credit when it's due though. Totally agree. Superhero films really have passed me by, I can't help thinking this is just for kids. The amount of xmen films and spin offs is unreal and I'm afraid they are all shit. Batman trilogy is just about passable and avengers was ok. Iron man films total shit. Best super hero film is either punisher war zone which is so bad it's good and super, where he literally just goes around bashing people with a wrench
  3. Little miss sunshine - nice little film, I enjoyed it. Steve carrell seems to be good in everything, shame his most famous role is playing an idiot in anchorman when he's capable of so much more. Hard to believe that little girl is pretty hot these days.
  4. I think people are failing to separate "style of comedy" with "character". David Brent and Andy Millman aren't even close to being the same character. They have the same voice and accent, obviously, and similar comedy styles, but their characters are totally different. Similarly with Gervais himself and Brent. Gervais is similar to Brent in comedy style because that is his style of comedy. But as characters they're totally different people. FWIW I'm a fan of Gervais' work. I don't much like him as a person or his standup, but The Office, Extras and Derek have all been superb in their own way. And the Ricky Gervais show and in particular their XFM shows are the funniest things I've ever heard. Comedy gold. Regarding Pilk, he's not a character. A listen of the XFM shows will confirm that. yes he plays up to it a bit, but that really is him. That being said, I wasn't a huge fan of An Idiot Abroad. Too scripted and set up for my liking although it had its moments. Agree with Steveo. Gervais is nothing like Brent, i have probably listened to 200 hours of their radio show from the xfm days and its quite hard to keep up an act over that many days/years/hours. Same for Pilky, definitely not an act, just a typical downbeat Manc! You can listen to them all on youtube and they really are one of the funniest things you will ever hear, granted XFM wasnt exactly a mainstream station but they had a fairly primetime slot on a sat afternoon and regularly turned up with nothing planned at all and some of the innuendo and swearing is hard to believe at times. I remember one show where they were discussing Ricky being on holiday for next weeks show and Karl was having a go that he hadn't recorded any trails for the best of show so he started doing them in the middle of the show!
  5. I just can't get my head around having a cabinet full of guns and that being perfectly normal. Different cultures i guess. Quite happy for the police to carry them but normal citizens not so much.
  6. No idea why but i watched One Chance yesterday evening. Some of the welsh accents were a bit iffy but it was watchable Sunday evening fare.
  7. Looks promising but when I hear the line love is the one thing that transcends time and space I died a little inside
  8. My main issue with any film with Russell Crowe in is that I can't stand him. Might watch Noah eventually.
  9. Yeah the orphanage is great actually, quite liked that Sam raimi film drag me to hell. There's a few decent ones but not enough for my liking.
  10. I love horror films but the genre is dying a death at the minute. Last 10 years I've probably seen a handful of decent horror films, saw 1, dead silence and possibly insidious 1. This current trend of having every horror film set inside someone's house e.g. paranormal activity and the conjuring, I just don't get it.
  11. Rebecca Adlington - 2 stone lighter and with a new nose. You would, wouldn't you?
  12. It's a bit presumptuous to say Froch would get destroyed by him, he's never fought anyone at his level and froch carries as much power as anyone. Agree that he wouldn't take the fight though.
  13. Froch v GGG would be one hell of a fight.
  14. I agree to an extent but it would never happen purely from a safety point of view, wouldn't be right to have such slow cars at the front of the grid
  15. Have you see the new apes movie? They just raised the bar.
  16. Just finished it myself, what a weird film! Dunno why but Crystal Fairy - i definitely would! Thought i recognised her in some way and checked imdb and its Maisie from uncle buck, what a head trip!
  17. Credit where it's due, vettel handled that brilliantly. Had to laugh when team radio kicked in an they said is everything ok and he replied yes but I've flat spotted the tyre, he was inches from a massive accident! Brilliant race though
  18. Its going to Ustinov v Chisora's Dad soon.
  19. Fury withdraws from the fight because his uncle has gone into hospital. WTF?????
  20. Pineapple Express is quality, its all about the bromance between Rogen and Franco.
  21. @D1 Have you managed to watch The Raid 2 yet? Can't remember if you commented on it in this thread.
  22. Agreed not saying that social media always dictates those scenarios but its definitely a massive factor in changing "social etiquette"
  23. Flash Debate: Social Media - is it making us more or less social? Im definitely in the less social camp, its funny how an etiquette has developed in probably 5 years or less where there isn't a situation you cant get your phone out and start messing around with it. You see groups of people at restaurants, pubs, clubs, pretty much anywhere where you can see a group of people just messing around on their phones instead of interacting with each other. I was eating in a pub the other day and there was a family there who had an 8 year old on his surface tablet with his beats headphones in, I had to just chuckle to myself, maybe that is perfectly normal and we just need to accept that "normal" is always changing but whats the point of having a family meal and having your kid completely zoned out like that.
  24. Totally agree but the simplest solution is to just not use it. I am on there and will have a look maybe once or twice a month, it has its uses (keeping in touch with relatives and friends who you dont see on a regular basis) i certainly dont need to use facebook on a daily basis to read about all the mundane shit going on in peoples lives. Thats why im more of a twitter fan, just follow a few select people who are involved in things you care about, couple of darts players, couple of villa players etc.. makes a lot more sense to me.
